Question to those that have fought him already for Bale Seals for head. Wondering how hard he is or a suggested number.

I am so sick of clapping.

You can solo him on rdm if you have the extra time, it just takes a while. I would suggest finding another rdm or blm or two that want pup/nin/blm seals and trio him. The group that I had could knock him down in about 10 minutes. rdmx1 blmx2.

Just find a big enough rock to kite him around. There is a nice one east of camp on the other side of the wall past the martello.. you just have to run though a bit of the maze to get there.

Oh and it does not grav, so movement speed + atma or gear is a must.

I have fought the Eruca 6 times and none of the times was movement speed a must although it is certainly nice to have. He stops and casts quite a bit so you're generally never in danger of him catching you unless you mess up somehow kiting. All the times we fought our setup was 2 Blms and a Rdm for debuffs and hate sharing. Having a Rdm debuff helped out a great deal while the other Blm and myself took turns kiting the Eruca around the area Arkane mentioned. It's by far the best spot since there are no immediate mobs in the area.

I found that it actually helped a great deal to sub /Nin instead of the typical mage subs because shadows made this fight alot easier, as well as being much easier to keep up instead of SS and Blink. Bring a RR earring if you're worried about messing up somehow and dying.

Just make sure not to cast on it while its casting since it absorbs magical damage and physical damage while its blaze spikes are down; both will heal it if you do. Only other thing to watch for is Firaga IV which is doesn't cast often enough to make it a major threat. I mostly stuck to Ice, Thunder and Water spells but I didn't see a resist to any specific spell and it never built up a resistance to Stun.

*Edit* Sorry just realized you're on Drk and may not have a mage job. I would suggest what Arkane said and either hook up with a Blm and Pup that need seals as well or get a small party together and straight tank it. With 2 DDs 2 healers, 1 Blm and a tank it's not a tough fight but he does hit somewhat hard and can proc multihits. I watched people fight this a few times and usually there's at least 1 or 2 people that died every time. The Blaze Spike effect is not as bad as say Wamoura's, so as long as you have decent healers and some sort of Barfira you should be ok.

Fought this a bunch on DRK, and a few times in an ls farming session as WAR. If you've been keeping up with your abyssites of merit and atma, DD + RDM + BRD is enough to take it down in about ~4-5 minutes. Add a THF or BLM and it goes down to 2-3 minutes. With an Apoc, I just did DRK/SAM and and rode Hasso. The only trick to the Eruca is that it absorbs physical damage during TPs, and absorbs magic damage during Casting (and TPs too I think.) Limit TP fed to keep it's TPing down, and it dies fast. You kinda get a feel for when it'll WS, so you can time your WS right and not heal it for 1,500 damage =p. Incinerate can do upwards to around 1800 damage, firega IV is around ~1500 if you don't stun it. Nothing that can 1shot you. If you're worried or low on HP just replace a march with Scherzo and use Seigan. I got most of my head seals from this NM~ GL!

Aye. Either way, doing something with support that another job can do without support is fairly weak.
