One of my buddies has been begging me to come back since the Salvage bannings. I've always stood firm with saying "no". However, he got me concidering it yesterday and I hate him for it.

Now, I haven't been on these boards in months (think a year+) but I'm wondering how many of you that ran these boards when I played, still play. To those people, is there any reason for me to want to come back? I keep hearing Joe Schmoe RDM can kill most anything now. True soloing wouldn't have the appeal that it used to hold for me when people would say "you can't do that", then I'd go try to prove them wrong providing the previous sentence is the case.

Old things are easy because of level 85, but that doesn't mean there aren't any new challenging solos. Also, abyssea is pretty amazing.

There was a lot more "new content" in ToAU in the form of original zones and mob types. Other than that, you're totally correct.

I guess I'll give it a whirl then. Think I'll roll a Taru this time since outside THF, I normally just roll mages with RDM as my emphasis.

Now I just need to figure out a name. Seraa is taken so I assume SE bans but never deletes ;; Sera, Seraph, Serah are also taken. I want some variation of Seraa instead of a totally new name. Time to keep thinking!

*EDIT* Say, Kap, you soloed a lot like I did. How do you like being Taru? Obviously the INT was nice for damage and the MP pool was amazing. Those are obvious. What about the class' drawbacks? The only two reason I hesitate from being Taru is the bad MND stat (as I was a merited Elvaan with perfect MND gear minus the 2 Star Sapphire earrings - hell, I even ran Dual Mistilteinns) and low HP pool.

I'm guessing the MND stat is irrelivent now with the increased levels. It was nice having Elvaan MND for Stoneskin but I read you can cap SS now with MND gear at all now? I guess 8 MND is only different with Para and that's somewhat debatable? I guess that leaves the HP. How many times was your low HP meaning your death? I can think of quite a few solos where I'd get left with double digit HP and Elvaan have 350ish more than taru? If it's infrequent, I'm going to take Taru - especially with this ability letting 500 HP turn into 1000 MP on Verts pending 50%+ HP to start.

hey long time no see! but yeah I took a break from the game about a year and have to say the abyssea expansions have been incredible with huge replay and rewards. maybe the best addition to the game in a very very long time.

abyssa recyles old mobs and zones and makes a new system of exp and rewards. the rewards are good vs time and effort compraed to older contant, too good though. they are so good that FFXI abyssa is all there is now.

from doing the mini expations for atmia to support easier farming there to the gear that for the most part domlishes old gear, you have empy zones, empty endgame and so on, i wonder how meny people are in DA these days, prob filled with idiots that think riddle is still good.

Wow, responding after Rambus' post is like... ironic. The last thing I see is your LM-17 message on your post. That's actually what I was going to respond mentioning.

I went for a taru this time. Chaz, my friend I hate so much, gave me 100k to get started. He bought me a pair of astrals (you know, because taru have 50 HP to be giving up early on) and a couple pieces of noob gear. He probably spent 200k on gear. I'm in the game for 3 days, am told about Abyssea, purchase both expansions, and THEN I come home to being banned the next day for RMT activities.

I've filed a complaint - not that it will help. After buying a few spells I had somewhere between 85-95k left after NPCing some dumb stuff like Insect Wings and Rabbit Hides. I was a lvl 16 RDM and was doing Windy Missions with a LS mate so he babysat me through aggro-prone areas. I had made it up to Rank 4. What about this is "RMT activity" worthy? I'm so lost and so pissed. Of course SE won't give me shit for info.

I made the mistake (at least I'm assuming this was the cause) of registering the new POL ID under my name and address which hasn't changed since Seraa was banned. I also used the same credit card.

I don't believe the banning to be due to the same credit card. That card was used for another account for someone who didn't want to play enough to keep paying but I wanted her to log in every once in a while so I paid for it. Her account has survived through BOTH of my toons being banned.

If that assumption - that the credit card wasn't the cause of the ban - was correct, my only guess is that my name having had a ban on it, auto-flagged my new toon for ban. That or it was the address.

I was banned during the Salvage bans because I duped. I paid my penance in losing almost 4 years of time overnight. I feel I should still be allowed to start over fresh with a new game, new toon, etc.

My question now is, "what did I do wrong?" Was is my RL name that got me auto banned or was it the address? I'm not thinking it's the credit card. Is there something I can do to get back into this game without having my Salvage ban follow me around?

A friend offered to create a POL ID for me and pay for it and me just pay him back directly every month. My only hesitation is that I don't want my Salvage exploits to somehow come back and get me axed (and more importantly him axed). The only good I can see from this is that at least it happened 4 days in so I lost a little progress outside the money I spent on 11 and the 2 Abyssea expansions.

I'm really looking for some useful advice from anyone that knows if/how SE tracks these things or anyone who has actually gone through something similar. I'm really frustrated here.

It's either the name on the account was the same as the one that got banned previously (not likely because they said rmt etc) or that a low level character had been purchasing "expensive" things. Anyways, keep your head up. I've heard of the second issue quite a few times, and they're generally timely (well, timely for SE) about getting it recovered. However, they might review your account and see that it is linked to the previous ban, and still keep it. Either way, good luck.

I had a mule banned for petty trades so it could been that too, who knows, SE may flag those rings Because RMT love them.

If it was adress issue, wouldn't all 3 accounts of mine get perma banned? all 3 accounts traded each other but at the time the most "giving" one gets banned. I was trying to move stuff off it so i would not have to pay for 3 accounts.

No one understands SE and i do not know why they insist in making thier customer service worse and worse.

All i can say is try BBB them and fight for the money back on the expansions ( i know it says no refunds but banning you after you buy them is BS)

Though I would try to talk to them first before BBBing them, makes the report sounds a bit better when you say they refused to help you after trying.

it works like this, you talk to them, you ask you dont understand why you banned. they say it is not reversible. you prosist you did nothing wrong. they will say they will take the appeal and they will not tell you when or if it will be overturned. supply they give you an email that it was successful.

weeks can go by, months and i still got " we are looking into it" up to you how long to wait before you want to reverse charges though CC or BBB them.

My low level character hadn't bought any "expensive" things. The most expensive thing I bought was a scroll for probably 4k. My buddy bought me 2 Astrals, Saintly +1, Bee Spatha +1, Compound Eye Circlet, Linen Robe, Light Solea, Mist Silk Cape, w/e the lvl 13 hands with 3 attack and 3 acc is, Friar's Rope, and a Justice Badge. I was GIVEN gear and 100k. I bought nothing outside tier 1 WHM and tier 1 BLM scrolls.

You ask about all 3 of your accounts not getting banned. Did you create any of them AFTER your toon got banned? I'm trying to see if SE is watching toon creation dates etc.

they are all old acconts, 2 are from 2003 and 1 was from 2004.

ALL 3 got temp banned last year ( i think my LJ explains exact dates when SE started this BS)

after all 3 got off that "perma ban" that became temp ban because SE saw i had a charge back on my CC. it was not for the 3 accounts I owned, it was for someone else back in 2005 or 2006.

they saw i never charge back my 3 and things where fine for 2 weeks

then my mule got banned for being a mule.

I changed CC frequently over the years to the point each account got a different CC because of the instance I had that unknowen charge on my CC. it was a feb to w/e the 3rd month is and i got 8 charges because they didnt charge at all for the small month so i didn't notice the extra account.

all the CCs have my name on it so i dont think they could link bannings like that.

in my LJ i show what i was doing with my mule it was moving and exchanging items prob all totaled under 1 mil so yeah SE is dumb.

thier RMT bot detector prob show i made a high amount of trades and just banned my mule because I did a large number of trades, not even considering the vale of said items

and i do mean a lot of trades , prob over 25 ( with 8 items filled up each time) with all the chrs. within a day or 2

if you want a simple answer to your question:

mule account got bannd after all 3 accounts( or other 2) where made.

all 3 where banned at the same time for the CC thing

Having 100k traded to a fresh account is considered RMT activity to SE. I had another account with a level 10 MNK that I just used for storage. Dbox'd him 100k and lost the account the same way.

Well, thank you for the responses. I guess that was it.

I made another account. My toon as been alive for nearly 5 weeks now but I'm still treading lightly and trying not to do anything outrageous.

I'm tried not leveling super fast right away, I tried not to go mission-crazy. I've asked people in LS that knew me before to not refer to me by my former names in case I had to do some sort of chat log references. As mentioned earlier, the ToS does state that SE will ban again if they believe you to be trying to get away from a ban and play under another account.

I'm sure I'm confusing the shit out of the members that joined since my ban. I'm referred to as one thing in Vent, but have two different toon names in game.

My RDM still isn't even 30 yet as I wanted an easy Maat fight. I had a ton of difficulty (like 8 attempts) back in the day before I beat him on RDM. I'm sure a lot of that was to the pace at which I leveled and just had low Enf skill so Sleep/Bind/Grav were inaccurate. Although, Maat did some freakish things to me like 2x Asuran Fists at two of the starts and the most bizarre was Maat teleporting to me at the BC enterance and Asuran Fist kill me while I was buffing. And yes, this was while I was still like 100'+ from being able to engage. Crazy stuff.

Anyways, WHM Maat was a joke. Even more so than back when I started playing. WHM has Repose now so I slept Maat and ran to the opposite side of the BC and waited. Rinse/repeat. Congratulations, Maat, you did about 200 total damage to me over 5 minutes.

My WHM is nearly 75 now and will prob stay there for a while. Nobody in the LS needs WHM so I'm leeching all that stuff up ATM. I got BLM to nearly 60 last night. I want it 85 ASAP since it's pretty useful for solo seal farming or trying to farm all the scrolls that are 200k+ right now. I will prob get it to 85 providing I find an early EXP party Saturday. Then on to RDM so I can get back to doing what I enjoyed most!

Current job thought process: WHM sits as-is shy of 75 -> BLM to 85 -> RDM to 85 ->War to 30 -> Nin to 50 -> THF to 85 -> RNG to 85 -> finish all necessary subjobs for RDM/THF/RNG. It's a start at least.

If my banstick paranoia goes away, I'll provide a toon name and pictures in the RDM picture thread sometime. >.>

WHM is actually amazing in Abyssea right now, you should reconsider taking it to 85.

We don't have but 2 WHMs in the shell and one of them is also one of our two real BRDs. I'm afraid leveling it will pigeon-hole me into playing it too often.

For now, just know that I'm back bitches! Keep posting useful findings/data so I can re-learn how to play RDM and what gears I need to look for. Maybe, one day, I can get back to providing (somewhat) useful infos myself!

When i made a trade even with my accounts if its any type large i send my self a tell.

when i used to extange novio i would call a GM each time asking if it was ok because i got banned for muling before.

I limit my trades, I only do so when i have to. I am very paranoid because stupid scares me.

I never dealt with a company that's scarier then SE.
