Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile TL-60 2.0 GHz
3 GB DDR2 SDRAM (upgradeable up to 4 GB max.)
250 GB SATA 5400 RPM
ATI Radeon X1250 128 MB

Um.. unfortunately.. I don't think your laptop has the necessary minimum requirements to play the game.. :/
Namely.. the graphics card.. if you're able to change that you might be able to play at minimum settings..
Also if you're running Vista 64-bit you might want to upgrade your ram to 4 Gb..

I got same issues here, but im running on a mac pro nehalem on bootcamp windows 7 64bit ultimate... Benchmark works fine and getting 1127 points... Only thing might be my vid card, which is nvidia gt 120 listed as 9500 gt (620.63). Already try uninstalling/reinstalling. The game installs, ffxivboot.exe runs ok... then first patch applies, ffxivboot.exe restarts and I get this:

It's indeed weird.. you have a good CPU and more than enough ram.. only the vcard is a tad old but yet I could play FFXI on a 9500 GS which should be older than the GT.. :s
Have you tried turning off the AV..?

ya, tried turning everything down from video settings to audio, just nothing works... The only weird thing is, if i put compatibility mode to win 98, it loads ok for a few seconds, then crashes again... my friend told me he had some similar problem and copying the cd onto hdd to install made it work. I've tried almost everything besides that, next step would be to format, but i doubt it could solve the issue

I give up. Tried changing a new video card radeon hd5870, reinstalling windows 32/64 bit, nothing does it. Might be a multicore problem, and found that this bat file:

@echo off
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV"
start /affinity 7FFF ffxivboot.exe

Still no result. Oh well

UPDATE: got it workin with the bat file, just ran the ffxivBoot.bat as administrator, got it up.
