Okay, so I know there have to be some people here that also like to do sports or martial arts besides gaming. ;)
What sport do you do, and how did you get into it?

I currently do Aikido, and I really enjoy it. I'll be taking up fencing soon as well, though I was really stuck between that or Naginata.
I got myself into Aikido, and friends recommended fencing over Naginata to me due to my apparent fast reactions, lol.

I started Kendo a fair while ago, I've done it for two years, then took a long break from it since the group I was doing it with disbanded. Now I am doing it again with another group elsewhere, and I love it still :D
I am also considering to pick up rowing. I've tried it and its actually quite fun! If I get enough time in the future, I will certainly consider joining a rowing organization.

I have practiced Ju-Jitsu up to brown belt..what got me into it..? I was like 14 and I had been robbed so I wanted to learn to defend myself.. my early ju-jitsu experience is one of the factors that has earned me a rank so high in the military despite my young age..someday I might join special forces..

I used to bike/jog 5-10 miles a day. I was once one of the fastest runners on the track team. At one point in time I walked 13+ miles a day to work and back because I hated public transportation.

I don't do those any more. Too lazy. Watch TV, eat funyuns, drink beer. I am now 300 lbs. of pure, unadulterated man, for all you ladies out there.

Cause jujitsu will save you from being mugged by multiple attackers. Low lifes travel in packs. Lrn to Krav Maga or take a reality based self defense class. If my dumb ass can learn to stun someone long enough to run away like a fag, anyone can.

Quoted for truth, although I'd like to add that a well-placed throat punch will give you ample time to escape at your leisure. You just have to deal with lots bureaucratic legal paperwork afterwards.

(At least jujitsu teaches you a fair bit of ground fighting, which is where you'll end up 90% of the time.)

Krav Maga and/or Muay Thai = Counter-rape.

Muy thai is pretty bad man.

Back in high school I was in the swim team and football team. As for martial arts I just know Yoga. Which is amazing to get out being pinned down and reversing.

Ju-Jitsu is a mixed martial art based on turning the enemy's own force against him/herself.. and many techniques of it involve disarming the enemy..
On top of that a lot of grabs end with a lethal finishing blow.. those are important in war or during a special operation, in the case you're facing an enemy in hand-to-hand combat..

There is a reason the Israeli Special Forces uses Krav Maga over juji. They've been at war since the first swindling Jew hoodwinked someone out of gold.

I practice marksmanship; I shoot pistols, rifles, and shotguns. I don't get to practice as much as I'd like though. Being poor and having to buy copious amounts of ammunition don't mix.

Anyone in here actually been in a real fight not some "trained" one where you get points. I can attest to it being the ultimate in rush experiences when you do and it's hard to keep control.

It is very easy to control yourself when facing an opponent that you know is for belts or point. I like fighting to some extent because of the "bad ass" man theology of it all but at the same time I like kissing and longs walks on the beach too with my wife.

I used to play sports when with my friends back in my 20s but they all got married and got fat now so seems my sporting days are far behind me.

If you can't keep your shit together in a fight, you don't need to be fighting. Tunnel vision and rage can get you killed.
