Oh, it wasn't anything as dramatic as a Tyler Durden affair. It was more of an impromptu MMA tournament bored college kids in Kansas put together a few times a week. There was only a little blood, usually.

The environment certainly wouldn't invoke the same adrenaline response referenced several times in the thread. You'd have to ask my cousin about that. He's an Iraqi war vet-turned-bouncer who's studied Krav Maga extensively. Most dangerous fucker I know.

Never got why muggers don't invest in some sort of protective nut cup. I would guess a mugger with a nut cup, knee pads, and protective goggles would be fucking invincible.
