Can someone give me a reason to play? I'm losing faith fast...

I just wonder if anyone can give me a reason to buy this game for the PS3 and play it when it comes out? All I see is more and more hang-ups on the game. Combined with my already being a little pissed at SE for not doing a simultaneous release as originally promised, I am losing any excitement that was left.

Its worth checking out. You can always try it and take it back if you don't like it.

My local store won't take it back once I use the registration codes included. Plus I don't want to buy a second PS3 for the wife since we play these things together, only to find the game has no redeeming qualities.

Places can't take back games with used codes for obvious reasons. Right now I'd wait til December or January to play it when they fix most of the issues that are at the top of the complaint list.

My bad then. Thought they'd refund after a short period if people were dissatisfied but I must have just been confused over people wanting refund for cancelled pre-order. What Corrderio said's right though, and you'll find that most people will admit that the game has redeeming qualities, they just shipped it well before completion. Gonna be a lot better with the next few updates and I expect it to be as polished as it should have been on initial release once PS3 release roles around.

I'm thinking the same as the OP. Having only played it like twice during the beta and once since then, I'm not incredibly sure I want to spend all this money on a game I may not even like.

Given the amount of time from now to ps3 release, making a decision now would be premature.
I am also on the "waiting till ps3 release to make a decision" side.

As am I. Couldn't afford a new PC for XIV if I wanted to, and even if I could, I probably would have waited anyways. From what I've seen, it's not gonna kill me to wait til March, then I can play more comfortably from my PS3. Only downside is I won't get to watch DVDs while I play (like I usually do with XI), but meh.

The ToS had some disclaimer that stated if you do not like the ToS ( since you have to open the game and make it go to the i agree part) you can take it back as long as you didn't use the codes

The issuse is thought you can't play the game without agreeing to the ToS, so hard to tell if the game is for you or not when all you got option wise is the ToS.

from my understanding the idea is this
when i was installing it, i do not need the code yet to read the tos, so at that point i could just return it.

Most retail companies don't return open PC products unless they are defective. Even then, they take the disc out of the new one and put it in the old one so you can't use the registration code.
Being able to get away with this in a online transaction may be another thing.

Code doesn't get entered until you register an account. You could buy the game, install it, return it, then get a buddy pass, per se.

I am assuming that has to deal with something about actually opening the game but not using the codes yet and seeing the ToS on install.
in other words even if the store don't accept it under that circumstance, SE will.

I too want to play this game with my wife without haveing to buy another PS3, so i got it for the PC. If your PC specs are up to par, or if you can afford the upgrades, I'd recomend getting it for the pc before the 25th of october, Atleast you'd be able to take advantage of the 60 day trial.
then make the decision for your self it would be worth buying again for the PS3.

RAMBUS!
The point is not that you could return it if you don't like the Terms of Service, the point is that you can't return it after you've played the game, if you decide you don't like it.

So glad i'm waiting until the PS3 release to ensure that i'm not wasting my money. If it's not gotten a lot better by then, i'll just stick to Cata and remain on the hamster wheel.
