So i have been reading up a little on the game I just got it as a gift. The only thing im sure of is that im going to be a tarutaru. Im unsure of what server to join is there maybe one that is more newbie friendly? Im thinking i wanna be a blackmage since they seem to do alot of damage. Also I no there is a sticky but im asking this to see if this is maybe a noobie friendly guild or something.

Well first of all, welcome to the world of FFXI! And great choice, I was a tarutaru BLM when I started out aswell. Mind you, the game has been out for awhile, so hopefully you'll find a somewhat easy transition into the game.

There really isn't a newbie friendly server, per say. The server I joined back in the day was Fairy (it no longer exists, it merged with Sylph) and I joined that on a whim. I loved my server, and I think no matter where you go, you'll find good (and bad...) people on there.

Beware of the jerks though. :/ Don't let them get you down. Good luck and hope you have fun!
