Hey guys! If u remember the original 360s ran the game great but often died do to red ringing.

The next gen 360s I think alleviated that issue a bit but now Ffxi has a ton of issues where u can't log on and need to reinstall the game to play, and quite often.

Any of u have an xbox slim and is playing this game on it just fine?

Need details on the matter cuz I'm planning on buying one. Sick of playing the game on ps2 lol

If you know of the issues... Why are you asking us? If you've read reports of issues then there are issues.

Well I may not have explained it correctly.

Are the issues from the previous xboxs still an issue with the new slim?

A large amount of the Japanese community is still playing on Ps2. FFXI was originally developed and released only for Ps2 in Japan, anyway.

PS: Those are also the reasons why SE has never abandoned Ps2 support in favor of better PC and Xbox 360 features.

It's hard to understand your points, sorry. Lemme try to give some info. Once you get RROD and your system is returned back to you, you MUST reformat the xbox 360 hard drive, the game will NOT work otherwise (not even using the music trick). This happened to me and I haven't reformatted yet.

Secondly, I can't confirm this, just my guess, people who buy a new Xbox 360 slim and use a transfer cable to send all their HDD info to their new slim console, perhaps FFXI will stop working since the console is a different serial number and upon installation it is reserved to that specific serial number? If you've heard of complaints perhaps it was from people who transferred the game over and found out it didn't work? I don't know, ask GameFAQs?

I always thought that the Japs runned mostly on PC. I started on PS2 back in 2004, It's 2010 now so I imagined that the PS2 version was discontinued so people wouldnt have the chance to play in that console anymore.

Actually, it's that and something else. Simply registering your new console will not be enough. You also have to transfer your licenses to your new console. I'm willing to bet that since FFXI has a license, it is tied to the serial number. So first, you must register the new SN, and then use the license transfer tool. Which can only be used once every 12 months. The only way to bypass this 12 month restriction is through repair or being sent refurb.

Ryolen, you have nothing to worry about. However, if you do get a 360 and FFXI, do NOT quit the game using the Xbox Guide button. Unless you have an MP3 player or will put music on your HDD.
