Suit is better than what I remember, although the mask is kinda meh.

Oh, wonderful, looks like he'll be doing that 'Van Wilder does cosplay' shit that he does like every other comic book role in which he's been. I mean, I could easily see him playing Flash with that approach, but I guess I'll just have to see how this pans out.

Like batman, the "all-white" eyes look better than seeing a characters pupils and irises. It takes away from the symbol and reminds us that he's human, which is boring. I dont want to believe in a human, I want to believe in a hero! (my GOD that was cheesy, eh, fuck it)

I'd think he could do a good Hawkeye or Quicksilver in some Marvel movies. But the Deadpool role was pretty accurate with the wisecracking and all.

That's what they're going for

I'm a big green lantern fan and I'm really glad to see that they are finally making this. I always figured that star would be a green lantern, but he seemed more like a kyle rayner rather than a hal jordan.

Agreed. Hal Jordan's confident but way more serious. I swear... they better not mess this up. Green Lantern's my favourite after Batman.
Rly hope they didn't overdo the 3D stuff.

The Flash is my most favorite. #2 to the Green Lantern. The Flash is the one main superhero that most people can really relate to, because all he has is super speed. Which is the best a human being can do. Hehehe i love how all the Flashes problems can be solved by running(it's the main plot device). Even when they brought back Barry Alan from the dead by just plane ol' running.

This is an iffy for me. The direction of this movie seems to be similar of how Marvel makes their movies, which is odd since the direction some DC movies have taken, such as Batman, and the reboot of Superman. The aliens look fake also, I understand you are aiming to be accurate towards the comic book, but being realistic looking also needs to be a key factor when it comes to making these movies. I don't have high hopes for this movie, but I do hope I am proven wrong, I do like Green Lantern, the character himself.
The Flash movie would be interesting, but like someone said, most problems can be solved by running in his world, but Hollywood has been getting their hands on any comic book they can find, so willing to bet one will be made some time.

I noticed that too, about the realism. It felt like how Spider-Man looks in the movies and I -haaaaate- the Spider-Man movies (diaf Toby Maguire).
Green Lantern has huuuuuge potential as a franchise too as it arguably has the most epic stories in the DC universe. Can start with this movie, move on to the other lanterns and the shit with Sinestro, then the whole Parallax shit and finally Rebirth. Would be sick (if this works out that is).

You mean the two other roles where that was actually an accurate representation of the characters? Yeah, I can see how that would piss someone off. Besides that, "super cereal stick in the mud becomes a super cereal super hero with stick up his ass" does not make a good movie. While they may be making Hal a tad more funny, they are at least keeping his apprehension of his abilities and his own future.
Funny side note, I was checking the imdb.com entry on this, and saw they will have John Stewart appear in the movie.

Spider-man used the appropriate amount of CG effects for that kind of movie. Star Wars on the other hand...

From what I heard they wanted Ryan Reynolds specifically for this role, and he's going to be a little more serious than his usual self in it. It's one of his chances to prove his versatility and do a more serious role rather than his witty, jokester roles; but do expect a few bits of his quirk here and there. I honestly cannot wait to see this movie, Green Lantern's been one of my favorite comic book heroes along side Spider-man, Flash, Hulk, Iron Man and a few X-men. I'm also eagerly anticipating the new Avengers movie coming out soon, too. I loved the Avengers as well. Lineup looks really good with Capt. America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, and Hulk. I thought they had plans to put Simon Pegg in as Antman, but it seems they took him out. Was never much a fan of that superhero, but I do enjoy Simon Pegg's work.

I'm not terribly familiar with Antman's back story, I didn't know he was a wife beater. Only thing I know about him is that he's married to The Wasp I believe. But yeah, I couldn't see Simon Pegg as a wife beater, though I'm sure they'd leave most of that out of the movie.

Hank Pym has a huge self esteem issue. He gets into some serious shit sometimes with the team because of the crap he pulls to make himself feel better. When the team is debating whether or not to boot him, he concocts the most insane idea ever: he creates a bunch of robots to attack them, and he'd swoop in and "save" them. Wasp catches him before he puts into motion, and he beats the crap out of her. In Marvel Zombies, he bit her head off. And in the Ultimate universe, his abuse of her is even worse.

You must be referring to his attack ants in the ultimate universe.

Yeah, that was horrible. It takes a lot to shock and disturb me, and that did it.

Marvel is known for having horrible writers that ruin everything. There's a reason my father stopped buying their titles.
As for Antman, he actually originally appeared in a 2 part 1 shot in I believe it was "Strange Tales." Marvel Originally specialized in Horror and Mystery books. Anyway, in this particular story, the scientist Henry Pym (who was never intended to become a super hero.) invents a shrinking potion, and drinks it, and ends up in an ant colony after drinking it. The next two stories were about how he survived as the ants tried to kill him, and then return to his original size. The story proved so popular that he was brought back as a hero, where he invented a helmet that allowed him to communicate and control the ants.
Antman has also had an ass load of secret identities. Antman, Giantman, Goliath, etc.
