BLU Spells in December Update

Well its that time folks to speculate on what spells BLU will get once update hits What are your thoughts

First set of HNM spells seems kinda likely since we can probably access every HNM type now, (except Behemoths), in Abyssea now.

Maybe they'll finally give us Spider Web like it was shown in the debut trailer for Blue Mages =)...?

I dont recall getting anything HNM releated, then again abyssa to me is not HNM.

where is flail and so on?

edit: Also OP, i hate you. I was hoping there'd been information released.
Speculation is kinda pointless considering alot of our recent ones came out of left field (quadratic being one of them)

Never said we got them yet, said the first set of spells seems likely.

Wyrms- Abyssea Tahrongi/Assault
Behemoths - Limbus
Adamantoises - Abyssea Tahrongi
Cerberus - Assault
Hydra - Assault
Khimaira - Assault

SE said they were going to consider giving us HNM spells here, under "Job Adjustments" under the Blue Mage tab. Also, it's interesting to look at the planned changes and see how many of them SE has interacted; see what direction they went based on what they said they would do. As for speculation? An HNM spell at 90 as a teaser for what's to come would not surprise me at all. However, I wonder how SE would make them different than normal spells... seeing as how SE tweaks the spell effects to whatever they feel is good. Quadratic Continuum is by no means a notable TP move in the realm of monsters, and yet it produces incredible numbers. Thus, it would be logical for HNM spells to be different/unique in some other way to make them important. Maybe new job traits, or unique effects? Status effects (like Curse from Hydra, Terrorize from Khimaira, Amnesia from Monocerii), knockback (Behemoth), TP drain (Vampyr), charm (Vampyr or Dvergr), intimidation (Dvergr), or just absurd amounts of damage (Spike Flail heheheh).

Wouldn't surprise me if we got combinations for Fencer, Critical Attack/Defense Bonus, Occult Acumen, or Conserve TP - all of those would be pretty neat on BLU. Would be neat if the HNM spells let us get more job-specific Job Traits, such as Triple Attack, Treasure Hunter, Kick Attacks, etc...

There's also Sandworms in Tahrongi.


Should also note we haven't yet got anything from Yovra, Orobon, Detectors, or Djinni.

Behemoths ....

This is the the La Thina Planes. The NM that drops +10 dex legs. I dont know about you guys but I hate this guy. For three weeks straight my ls has been farming this sone for weapons and ending with him.

They keep trying to get atma, but we never do.


As for spells
The two multi hit ones I want

Hexidice, 6 hit spell from balls in sea.
Comdemnation from demons. A four hit attack


Bloody Claw would be nice from gargoyles

And some sort of new breath spell. Heat breath was 71. We will be 90. Before Heat breath 53-54 were the two breath spells we got.

I don't think Detectors have any moves other than to summon dolls or pots.

And it's not Condemnation from demons, that's the conal stun move. Quadrastrike is what you're thinking of.

I wouldn't know if kick attack trait would be nice but Occult Acumen and Conserve TP would be nice although new combos for fast cast would be nice and for some others too

Yes, thanks for helping me out on that. I admit when I was in Castle O, the Demon NM dark used Quadrastrike and it wiped a 18 man party. So yeah, I'd love to see that. Also its cool to see the jumping in the air.

and far as what SE said yeah maybe we will see, i dont trust anything till it happens, they even did update take back ( the ranger move comes to mind)

yeah and? the past couple of updates have seen us get second spells from current mobs( magic barrier and battery charge, animated wail sping to mind) but yea id like to see a dragon( mini faf in tahrongi, sandworm, mini in tahrongi again among others. also there will be 2 new types of abyssean mobs we will get a spell from just like the previous abyssea expantions.

If you didn't watch the new trailer, they're adding reskinned versions of the TOAU HNMs in the next add on.

Condemnation is actually threefold as well. Would be nice to get it as a weaponskill, since, you know, you fly for a sec. A physical based drain move would be cool, like bloody caress or claw. We don't technically have any fomor moves either. Shackled Fists or Netherspikes would be cool additions.

Only problem with the little fafs in Tahrongi is, I don't think they can flail. Or at least, I haven't been able to trigger it. ;;
