I completely agree with you UNC first they put a cap on haste basically gimping what our relic is all about and then this crazy shit. The only thing a relic is anymore or at least ours, is the highest base damage weapon in the game with crap loads of accuracy. Its barely worth saying you have one anymore. There's pretty much no use for accuracy gear anymore with the ever increasing level cap. The haste cata gives is pretty much useless as we can cap it easily now without having to use a piss poor damage ws. Quite frankly Im happy I never wasted my time on Apoc I'm almost ready to quit going for redemption as well in fear of the time Ill waste on that for SE to just say fuck you to that weapon to. Only thing I can say good going to SE for is the AF3 I'm happy they didn't fuck that up completely (with the possible exception of the feet). Only hope I have left now is that the set bonus is actually good with the whole set or Ill just say fuck the feet and use ace's. However here is my hope that SE does something worth while for relic owners in the future. I personally can't blame any of you for being pissed with what SE has done to them.

BRD is at least still used and the final stage gives another level of song addition.

On the other hand look at PLD.

1) necessary for only a handful of mobs
2) the Empyrian shield is a whole Shield Size above Aegis
3) the increased magic resistance down isn't all that useful considering you'll cap with shell anyway
4) nothing to give hate
5) no defense for increased shield block reduction

Aegis got shit on. Might as well go for Caladbolg you got a better chance keeping hate on anything get to meeles attack.

Aegis at least gives you full time MDT cap, which is nice for mobs with quick magic attacks. Right now G.horn is only giving 1mp/tic over the alternative for Ballad, and most other songs are equal / better on another instrument. If they don't make G.horn something like All songs +5 or even just Ballad +5 and leave the rest sometime soon, no one will make them anymore.

Yeah but the fact that 90 Ghorn gives another + to songs indicates they are taking it in a direction of usefulness. On the other hand having Aegis go above 25% MDT is pointless because Shell already gives another 25%. D-Ring Aegis PLDs can walk around without shell, that's pretty much the only upgrade from the shield trials.

You can also achieve capped MDT down without Aegis now. Twilight Neck, Valhalla Helm and Body, Dring, and Shell V. Can substitute Dring or Twilight Neck with the psedo D-Ring dark rings.

I could cap -MDT without any of those nice pieces at 75, just fyi. The reason why it's still good (sort of) is that you can have capped MDT at all times, not just when you hit a gear swap and you need a WHM with at least 3/5 Shellra V for capped MDT with just Aegis.. Also, D-ring and Aegis is only 35%, but I assume you meant it along with other gear as well.

I meant the fully upgraded Aegis's extra MDT. It and D-Ring alone gets you to cap, that's about the most special thing. Unless they change shell to work like MDB, it's not truly helpful.

And yes, you could cap it before at 75, I'm just pointing to stuff off the top of my head to illustrate that the extra MDT through trials isn't anything special

What is even worse is doing relic/mythic or the emp. weapon is futile for dark even still because its so fucking weak compared to the others in abyssea.

I quit for a couple months, came back and finally got razed ruins. So I put the apoc in my gobbiebag and pull out maneater/ridill from storage.
