Recently Square Enix sent Christmas gifts to those who joined the Square Enix members rewards program to the Ultimate Members, which is an Original Illusration Plate with hand drawn illustration of Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII. The plate is signed by Tetsuya Nomura with a note "She must not be forgotten", which maybe a hint that a sequel of FFXIII is in development?

pretty piece of artwork.
the way its phrased, it sure does seem like a XIII-2 is in the works.
perhaps its foreshadowing whats in store at the 1st Production team conference in January. Time will tell.
Wouldn't really mind a XIII-2 tbh, but don't exactly see how they'll carry the story forward other than idk, exploring Pulse and new episodes of life-as-we-know-it
Either way i'd figure shes not gonna be forgotten that easily since u know, shes in Dissidia and all..

It is very possible to throw a sequel onto FFXIII, but I can't see the story going further along without it starting to get sloppy and refer to FF7 even greater.
I would still play it, but in this situation, I would tell SE to just leave it be. I want to see FFXV come out close to perfect and have the developers learn from their mistakes and take player feedback of previous games seriously. I am not talking about FFXIII, I am talking about SE's standards of games as of late.
Cool picture up there, I need to sign in to these things more often.

Maybe it's a hint that she'll be mentioned or "remembered" in versusXIII. They're in the same world or universe, aren't they?

I think Lightning didn't make as much of an impact as a protagonist as SE/Nomura would've liked. Maybe thats what he means by it; I for one felt she was really forgettable?
Hopefully a sequel isn't in the works, the story closed off well enough.
