Well, Steam had FFXI available for five bucks.

I canceled my shit in June of '09... and at the end of November '10 I found myself re-upping my content IDs.

What have I done?

Anyhoo, anyone still play this old beast?

Word.

I'm thinking about it. Super bored lately, cause my new job won't really pick up until the spring. Just don't want to completely start from scratch. But Dynamis sounds fun lol

EDIT: Steam still has it for $5, so I downloaded it. Anyone have a world pass?

I tried going back into FFXI a few months back, and the game hurt my eyes. Seriously, after seeing how pretty and visually attractive XIV is, I decided it was better to wait for that game to be up and running to its full potential than to return to that dying game.

But it was fun while it lasted

I didn't realize you had to have a world pass these days. Let me know if you still need one. I rarely log in but I'd go get you one.

If you haven't found it yet, just install POL. On the page where you'd normally click play to launch FFXI, there's a link to buy Abyssea expansions and the security token.

It's not hard to make FFXI look fairly decent, just dick around with your regedit and shit.

Alternatively, FFXI Calc has a feature built in that will do this for you.

It's been a while since I've had to do it and I don't have FFXI installed to check, but:

Start -> run -> "regedit" -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Find FFXI wherever it is -> Under Name look for 0003 (X resolution) and 0004 (Y) -> Right click and click modify -> Change Base to Decimal and put in whatever resolution you want e.g. 1920 for 0003 and 1080 for 0004, whatever your desktop resolution is I guess. For the display window size I'm assuming you're using windower and you can change that value in it's .ini file

That or do what Banter suggested, whatever the hell FFXI Calc is
