Fuck that shit! There's too much FF7 crap already. FF7 crisis core, FF7 Movie, Dirge of Cerberus. WTF! Even FFX got FFX-2. They gotta show some love to FF8 or 9 those were bad ass. Specially 8.

I always thought there would be some thing that would be disturbing/not work well in a HD FFVII I could go on to list a few but I imagine most already know some off the top of their heads. I personally think it might be more interesting to see a HD console remake to some of the FF on the earlier consoles (pre-Playstation).

SE killed SE.

Square killed Enix?

Enix killed Square?

It hasn't been the same since Sakaguchi left.

There are a few things that wouldn't work in a HD that's for sure. Cloud crossdressing, Cloud beating Aeris, etc.

I dunno, it'd just seem odd having realistic models doing those things instead of the bloated up lego men in the PS1 version.

I loved FFVIII, but instead of a remake I would much rather prefer a brand new original RPG that blazes new trails in terms of player immersion than any JRPG in existence while keeping that romanticism (not love stories necessarily) and providing a breathtaking customizable story.

Would be nice. I'll admit I'd love to see FF15 go back to the roots or try to make a storyline that keeps me interested instead of losing interest halfway through due to how slow story progression is, however phunk summed up SE pretty well.

I would totally enjoy Cloud in drag doing squats with the frilly macho men in HD.

This might be random as hell. But it just came to me.
Why not have a 2011 remake of Oregon Trails.

Ide be so into that.

Remake that and Carmen Sandiego and my childhood would be revived. Word/Number munchers was fun to, but doubt they'd make one for calculus :P

Have you played Chaos Rings? I just got 100% on it, feels like a classic Final Fantasy once you get invested in it.

You guys do realise SE publish games other than FF right?

This is hardly worrying news anyway. They didn't lose money, they just didn't make as much, and wasn't the previous year one of their most successful yet? I seem to remember similar tales of dread shortly after The Spirits Within practically bankrupted them and look what happened. With Deus Ex out "soon" and the inevitable release of Championship Manager 54373086789, not to mention the host of other Eidos classics waiting for another installment (Soul Reaver 3 anyone? I'm not mentioning that whore though) it would take a complete disaster for SE to collapse. FFXIV didn't kill them, I doubt anything will. Well, maybe these two FFXIII related titles that vanished mysteriously could...

While I've been a fan for years, I'd fucking love the irony of a FFVII remake being the title to finally bring them crashing down.

Thing is, they were expecting a lot more revenue from FFXIV and now they don't have it. They probably had that money planned out on what to spend or had already spent it, which would either put them under or force them to break some contracts because they can't afford it.
