What the heck are you talking about, what happened on the 21st? Also, it wouldent be the mayans being wrong, it would be the gregorian translation of the mayan calendar being wrong. But thats a different matter.

lol sorry I gotta stop posting under the influence. I was just putting 2 and 2 together. Well on 12/21/10 there was a rare total lunar eclipse on the winter solstice. So although many people are really excited about the world ending on 2012, it seems more likely to me that if the Mayans somehow made a super accurate astrological calendar, then somewhere over the past 2000 years we messed up on when to start year 1 and astronomical event the Mayas were waiting for was a couple nights ago.

If the world was to end in 2012 it wouldn't be because of something the Mayans predicted, it would be because Obama got re-elected.

They are both wrong, one is simply more accurate than the other. Of course, our interpretation could also be horribly misguided. It is a lot safer to say that everyone who ever said anything between the creation of the Mayan calendar and now is wrong. Except me.
