Is FF14 worth spending $350 on upgrades for my PC? Rate Topic: -----

I bought FF14 CE and quit playing after one week, because 1. it didn't run very smooth on my PC, and 2. FF14 gameplay wasn't very intriguing. At that time, I realized that MMOs take time to get better, and that I should have waited, soI started saving money to get a better video card and cpu. As of now, I have the money to do the upgrades needed, so my question is: is FF!4 worth it, or will it be worth it (because I'd be doing this upgrade primarily for 14)?

At this moment in time, no. I spent money on upgrades and I regret every bit of it.

Wait until the PS3 release.

http://killingifrit....-comp-vs-ffxiv/

it is really almost imposable to run it well 40-60 FPS with high- max srttings

so i dought one upgrade will satisfy you.

even a comp like that you stuck on middle-high to have 40-60 fps ( nto really sure if she tried to get max FPS , she wants the game to look well so she deals with 30-50 on high settings ( not max some have very high options)

you should upgrade regardless because if you cant handle ffxiv on med you need to upgrade.

better to wait for the moment, i think that was the point of the question.

if you look at it as the imprvment will not allow him to run better graphics ( he might go from low > low standered, on 350 dollars)

the second is, we dont know what kind of G card is needed to run this game with high fps on high settings.

Do not upgrade for FFXIV. Definitely not worth it yet. This game has a LONG way to go.

Right now is a pretty good time to upgrade if you want to take advantage of random holiday savings and want to upgrade for the sake of upgrading.

If you have a friend who works for an intel retailer (like best buy), you can try begging them to let you purchase one of the super discounted Retail-Edge program's i7/i5(?) processors.

Thinking now, I guess my $700 upgrade isn't too bad. I have a lot of future protection so running PC games will be great for years to come. Elder Scrolls 5 is coming so I'll be wanting to use my upgrades for that anyway.

Not to mention my game development classes. I need a good PC to load all those polygons :/

yeah i get that but the question is "is putting 350 in FFXIV worth it" I really dotn think it is because 350 will not make your comp high end, or where 350 would make much difference.

what will the new vs old CPU is, new vs old G card? dought ill do much, the game it self is not worth writing home about so its best to wait to:

1. hardwhere to get better and cheaper or hardwhere that can run ffxiv on max
2. wait for the optimize programing to find out what you will need exactly.

If it wasn't for the fact I was in desperate need of a new PC... I'd be crying at the money I wasted to play this.

350 woulld pay for a Q93XX (which I planned to OC to 3.5ghz), and a gtx 470. If you say that doesn't give me a constant 35-40 fps and med-high, then I'd say fuck this game... I'll just wait For Tera, and rip shit up with my current 9800 GT.

dont buy anything. waste of money. this game is useless. If you have the money, just wait anyway. things will get cheaper and better things will come out.
