Just picked mine up last night, and wanted to poll the Drks if they Full time it with brutal, or just WS with it.

I full time it for Caladbolg.... I have not decided yet on Apoc. I still use abyssal.... Having trouble deciding how much the dark magic skill / scythe stuff combined is worth to me or If I should request a suppa for my upcoming ninja... ; ;


Grats btw, 1/13 on mine.... Dropped on the one that I didn't proc blue on for w/e reason... lol.

Suppa is (and always was) the biggest upgrade any job can get out of an ear slot if they can use the DW. Abyssal was near worthless before Abyssea came out, and is currently a waste of inventory (unless you like a few points of scythe skill for whatever idiotic reason).

I actually went 1/1 on my earring. ' With the aby. for weaknesses, its so easy for procs now.

Well its a combo of things with me for abyssal vs. suppa... I know suppa is better job vs. job. But when endgame shifts out of abyssea and nin goes back down the ladder and I never use it again, will I want my abyssal back lol.

Like Taint said, if you're not using the ACC, Abyssal is a waste. And if you're that strapped for ACC with an Apoc, you are probably geared like a moron or should change your choice of food.

I switched out my Abyssal earring after I hit 80 and I'm using Aesir Ear Pendant until I get something better. I got Brutal in the other slot.

How difficult is this nm? I'm using the +10 att earring you can buy on AH ATM but this looks good

I have no problem with acc, and I usually use my carb food.

The NM is not very hard at all.

Soloed the NM easily, 1/3 on the NM. None proced blue since I was blm for all 3 tries. I recommend everyone to get this as the NM is very easy if you pin it, and can easily be duoed with DD/mnk +whm.

You don't even need blue, it has a very high drop rate.

k so maybe i should fail less but umm ive tried this nm with mnk blm whm nin/ blu whm drk and am 0/1 on earring and shit keeps pwning me :/ what am i doing wrong? garnted im not an apoc drk or anything uber but is there a suggested strat for this?

Decent mnk countertanking and a whm with refresh atmas and a hair trigger on cure V / VI should be good to go. Barthunder / barpara might help at the start, my first few gave me troubles with stunning.

All you need is a blm/rdm with apoc atma. As I have posted in the wiki page of the whole solo strategy. You pull, bring it down to the ramp, on the left wall as you go down the ramp, there are two rocks. You bring the NM there, run circle with it. It does cut through the rock sometimes if you go careless, but if you allow it to catch up to you in each end, it won't cut through the two rocks. This NM deaggros every 30 sec to be exact if it can't get a hit on you, so when it deaggro, you T4 or T5 nuke it. Make sure to have time during kite to apply bio II on it, not needed but doesn't hurt cuz the short casting time. You can also stun, drain, to speed this up. Usually each T4 nuke takes off 3-4%. If you die, just get back up and kite until you are unweak. Once I got a hold of the way the pin works, I didn't get hit the entire fight. Very easy, the hardest is the pull, but with manawall and apoc atma, you can take it a long way, and if you die, just grab it and keep bringing it to the rocks. Can't get any easier than this.
