As previously mentioned on this space, FINAL FANTASY XI will see more frequent updates in the future, with the introduction of small-scale patches to complement the major releases seen thus far.

We are pleased to announce that the first of these small-scale patches is scheduled for mid-February, and will usher in a range of battle-related tweaks, such as increasing experience point yield and lifting level restrictions on certain mission battlefields. The PlayStation 2 HDD storage issue will also be addressed, with adjustments to the way version update files are downloaded.

Details will be made available right here on Topics in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

Is that just PUPdate on the picture or even more ToAU? Well I guess I shouldn't complain if they're adjusting pointless crap.

They mentioned somewhere that they're planning on making TOAU rings re-obtainable.

Yeah, from the images it just looks like stuff they've mentioned already in their twitters. The first image is of Horst and probably concerning the congestion of Port Jeuno; the second is the 2-5 mission dragon which is probably in regards to the lift of the level caps on nation missions and such; and the third is related to the re-obtaining of ToAU rings, since it appears to be Aphmau's puppets, Ovjang and Mnejing.

Increasing XP is clearly a pressing issue in XI.

You know, I understand that the nature of nerds is to automatically complain about everything and I further know that that the nature of the internet augments this behavior, but is there truly no line in the sand? For normal people, level of complaint is generally inversely proportional to actual enjoyment of any given subject. Granted, that hasn't stopped "fans" of the Bengals from watching their team, but it has winnowed the fanbase down to the terminally retarded.

What makes you believe this proposition is in dispute?

Well, you continue to play. When my enjoyment reached critical failure, I stopped. I also stopped whining incessantly on forums, though, truth be told, I have never approached your level of whine. But my point there was that normal people realize they have more productive things to do with their time when they're not having fun (and not getting some form of compensation that makes up for that lack of fun, lest you start rattling at me about employment) and they stop complaining with every breath they take. You've been at the "I am incapable of posting without a diatribe about the state of the game" stage for months, but you still play.

That ToAU picture: Who's that guy in the background? Pretty sure the girl's a stand-in for the player-character in the CS, but that doesn't look like the palace (did Wahlara temple have that stripe wall on the left?).

Nope, but it could be just a short story they put in about the ring. After all if you drop your CoP ring didn't the guy who gave it to you say he found it in a sewer?

Im not a person who believes that More experience needs to be given, rather I believe that the gap between what you can get in a group versus what you can get solo needs to be lessened.

Of course this just applies to levels 1-70. After that, abyssea can take care of you.

All this comes from the pressing need of the general populace to be "key whores" to abyssea parties. I think that if the xp you get from FoV weren't so minuscule, then people wouldn't feel the need to whore up their subs.

And don't get me started on skill levels.

Different proposition than "level of complaint is generally inversely proportional to actual enjoyment of any given subject." High level of complaint completely consistent with despising the game.

But in regards to "Time devotion is generally directly proportional to actual enjoyment of any given endeavor" there is a distinction between time spent complaining and time wasted in the game. I spend more time generally debating about the merits this game than playing, and that's because when it's a way to kill time during boring lectures when people ask stupid questions after I get bored of looking at Facebook.

Oh and I do occasionally have fun in XI. Stealing Ranis, especially when they fail a brew, is always fun.

Touche Douche. Nice to see that not only are you an elitist dick, you are just a plain dick. Why with all your leet skills would you feel the need to steal a mob, especially after the challenge has been 90% overcome by a brewer and you just have to get the last few shots in?

You have no skill, despite you claiming otherwise, and you have no merit. Stuff that in your fucking meritocracy pipe and smoke it.

edit: I am sorry I just realized that is the only way you can get your world spawn super lucky awesome claim skillz to the max over other people jones in these days. Can't compete against players for ground kings when no one shows up to them anymore, what ever will you do when your behavior get's you banned? Camp the parking lot for that fucking ridiculously awesome parking spot at work/school/dairy queen?

To be fair, if someone wipes to something with a brew, chances are it's probably got a good chunk of HP left because said brewer is full blown retarded.
