Good thing Square never put wooden skids in their games, looks like they take forever to kill.

This is why white Barret should stick to guns if he can't handle a sword.. Can't even kill a level 2 wooden skid.

First off... Those guys are doing it all wrong. A heavy sword like that? They were trying to do the work. They were trying to actually swing it. Something like that you let do the work for you. That also looks like Iron. Way to heavy to be effective. Nice replication, but not combat capable. At least not in their hands.

yeah, just guessing... but if that is iron i'd say about 5' long by like 8'' wide by 1.5'' thick? that's about 185 lbs. of weight held up by that tiny handle... would be a bitch to do anything with.
but it does look badass

No, it really doesn't. Then again, I have about 5 seconds of physics education and I have actually swung heavy things, so I find effectiveness and elegance to be far more badass than "Hah, here's 100 lbs. of iron alloy on a stick!" A proper very large sword like a tachi, zweihander, or claymore is more impressive because, you know, they actually could be used to kill.

Its neat to see these type of things, but I find it funny when people claim that it is possible to swing a sword that size around like Cloud.

Material used makes a big difference, but that's still a stupidly big sword. Just goes to show that if you want a sword that big, it's best to go with a standard claymore. It'll cut just as nicely.

No matter what it's made of, trying to swing something that wide/tall would be a pain in the ass.

Tune in next week when they make a semi-functional Gunblade, and the vibration force of the blade malfunctions and slices someones hand off.

I'd love to see someone try to swing something like that without it feeling awkward.
