Event-related

Level restrictions have been lifted for the following nation of allegiance missions:
Posted Image
San d'Oria: Journey Abroad / The Ruins of Fei'Yin
Bastok: The Emissary / Darkness Rising
Windurst: The Three Kingdoms / The Final Seal

In Fields of Valor, the once-per-day limit on undertaking training regimes has been lifted.
Regimes may now be completed for experience as often as desired. Gil and tab rewards, however, will still be awarded only once per Vana'diel day. With this change, hunts and individual training will no longer share the same timer.

Traverser stones from the NPC Joachim (Port Jeuno, H-8) may now be acquired in bulk, up to your maximum carrying capacity.

The NPC Ehrhard (Abyssea – Grauberg, D-14) has been replaced by the NPC Tancredi.

Battle-related

Experience point yield for defeating monsters in non-Abyssea areas has been increased.
*This increase will also apply to dragoon wyverns and adventuring fellows.

Combat and magic skill increase conditions have been reworked.
*This adjustment will also apply to automatons.

* Skills may now be increased to their caps by fighting foes rated "Decent Challenge" or stronger.
* Skills will rise more rapidly, and larger values will accompany each skill increase.

Item drop rates have been adjusted for the notorious monsters Apademak (Abyssea - Uleguerand) and Dragua (Abyssea - Altepa).
Posted Image

Item-related

The following reward items for the Treasures of Aht Urhgan mission scenario may now be reobtained:
Balrahn's Ring / Ulthalam's Ring / Jalzahn's Ring

Posted ImageTo reacquire the reward, speak with the NPC Nadeey in Walahra Temple (Aht Urhgan Whitegate, J-7) without any of the above items in your ownership.
*Should you discard the reacquired item, the event timer will reset with the next conquest tally.

The following items may now be stored with the Porter Moogle NPC:

* Moogle Storage Slip 04
Razor Axe / Barbaroi Axe / Marauder's Knife / Raven Scythe / Fencing Degen / Peregrine / Sniping Bow / Blessed Hammer / Casting Wand / Beat Cesti / Kukulcan's Staff / Honor Sword / Immortal's Scimitar / Anju / Zushio / Magoroku / Turbo Animator / Trump Gun / War Hoop
* Moogle Storage Slip 11
Imperial Standard / San d'Orian Flag / Bastokan Flag / Windurstian Flag / Jeunoan Flag / Gold Moogle Belt / Silver Moogle Belt / Bronze Moogle Belt / Red Sash / Dash Sash / Happy Egg / Fortune Egg / Orphic Egg

Posted Image

Items involved in ongoing Magian trials will no longer be handled by the porter service.

The recipe for Pet Food Eta has been revised as follows:
(Old recipe): San d'Orian Flour, Apkallu Egg, Ruszor Meat, Distilled Water
(New recipe): San d'Orian Flour, Apkallu Egg, Buffalo Meat, Distilled Water

The price of Instant Retrace scrolls has been reduced from 500 Allied Notes to 10.

System-related

The update installer for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 versions has been upgraded.
Version update installations will now require less storage space.

The <petmpp> macro command has been added.
This command will display the current MP of your pet or automaton as a percentage of its maximum value.
*Your pet or automaton must be within targeting range to use this command.

The <wait> macro command has been added.
This command may be appended to the end of a macro line to set a delay before the following line is executed. The syntax is <wait #>, where # is the length of the delay in seconds (from 1 to 60).
*The <wait> command will only function properly at the end of a line. Placing it at the beginning will result in all other commands on the same line being ignored.
*The existing text command "/wait" may still be used as before.

(Ex.) Old and new formats for a white mage macro casting Protect, Shell, and Haste in succession:

Resolved issues

The following issues have been resolved:

  • An issue wherein players being evicted from Abyssea due to visitant expiration would lose some of their temporary items.
  • An issue wherein the item drop rates for the notorious monsters Ironclad Triturator and Ironclad Sunderer were incorrect.
  • An issue wherein wieldance cards were dropping less often than intended.
  • An issue wherein shadow sachets were not being dropped by monsters.
  • An issue wherein the following areas were not being covered by text command searches:
    Abyssea - Uleguerand / Abyssea - Grauberg
  • An issue wherein the Magian Spectacles were not functioning properly in Heroes of Abyssea areas.
  • An issue wherein equipping a Magian-upgraded Lv. 90 Yagrush together with Orison Pantaloons +1 or +2 would cause the white mage job trait Divine Benison to function improperly.
  • An issue wherein fishing up a pair of rusty leggings would consume fishing bait.

Known issues

The <petmpp> command may display an inaccurate value if used immediately after calling forth one's pet or automaton.

English Version Only

The help text for the blue magic spell Delta Thrust contains the following inaccuracy:
(Incorrect:) Chance of effect varies with TP.
(Correct:) Effect duration varies with TP.

Late on the post, but pretty exciting update nonetheless.

Any first impressions on what the xp boost/fov/skill up will look like? When do the servers resume?

Going to assume skill ups are going to be about doubled in rate and go .4 and .5 at a time judging by what they've said here. XP boost they already said will be about doubled, and FoV has already been explained word for word.

First thing I did is help my low-leveled friend kill the Rank 2 dragon. She was very happy since no one was willing to help her so having me just run in and kill everything made her smile.

That fight wasn't even hard in the first place :|

Yea I agree with Banter on that one, I would have much rather seen 5-1 uncapped before the dragon one. Oh well beggars can't be choosers.

I have done the fight a few times going in with really weak gear on mnk and just 2hr til it died. 100 fists usually lasted through the 1st mob and 3/4 through the 2nd. From there just utsu and have the person who is helping cast cures occasionally.

The notes do say that they uncapped both...

Probably because the people running the show don't have their heads up their asses.

Got 1050 Chain5 EXP bonus on an IT colibri today with Emperor Band equipped, Lv55 party. Was averaging about 350 exp/kill on VT, and chaining upwards of 500-600 on IT without ring. Party wasn't a leet setup, but 25k/hr not so bad. I'm wagering exp can hit some pretty nice numbers with the right setup/mobs/players. EP Yielding around 130+/kill also.

2 DRKs at lvl 25? No one else wanted to help so it wasn't until after the update where we could just duo it safely, or rather me solo it for her.

You seriously both had no jobs past 25 other than DRK? It's soloable by a good number at 25. Hell, it's probably not impossible for two 25 DRKs.

Only having DRK at 25 sounds odd to me, as it is an advanced job which requires you to have a starting job at 30.
Anyhow, you can't blame a starting player for not having the skill or the resources to solo a mission like that.
Especially since the "good gear" for the starting levels is hardly available anymore.

My god, some people are being elitist jerks here or just plain ignorant. The dragon being easily soloable? If you were on the right job and if you brought meds/drinks AND if you got lucky then sure you'll solo it. Hell, if you did the dread dragon then quite a bit of the times it was game over no matter what if it put curse on you, the curse from it is deadly. I also remember getting petrified once and dying during a solo attempt (and yeah, I turned around in time, server lag ftmfw).

And I don't know about you guys, but most players these days don't really give a shit about helping out others, especially since the level cap is 90 and a large majority of the game outside of abyssea is soloable now. I remember seeing a person asking for help for the 2-3 dragon a few months ago for around THREE HOURS, yeah I didn't want to help either. My guess is that player never did get help on 2-3.

I solo'd all of those dragons easily with nothing more than a Regen drink and a Meat Mithkabob and this was, like, fucking 7 years ago. Sorry, it's not really elitist if we're talking about stuff that is antique in terms of difficulty. I doubt that a White Mage could have solo'd that stuff at 25, but it was hardly so difficult that it couldn't be solved by leveling up Monk or Ninja or Dragoon or Blue Mage to 25 (or 24, I suppose, if you were really worried by Level 5 Petrify).

Or 25 and any job with Bloody Bolts. Those things are ridiculous at the level you get them.

Hey, how can you bitch about people being elitist jerks and then be a total fuck wad and watch someone shout for help on something so simple for three hours. I might come off as a prick, but if I was sitting there watching this person shout for help, I would have went and soloed it for him.
