Wonder how long until someone posts a screen shot taken in widower and gets their in game character banned.

Interesting, these forums do good to the gaming communities in terms of information, but I'm wondering if the fact that you have to couple your access with a SE online ID is more about them cracking down on RMT/Third party/Illegal activity than it appears. I get that they want to keep the forums clean and organized with people who actually play the game. Or maybe it's a better way to keep tabs on the community, whether it be in any malicious way or otherwise.

XIV forums are pretty much what I thought:

- We "need" more classes
- We "need" jumping
- Is this game good enough to play?
- Insert other random crap, just more common than in ZAM.

Pretty much

See all these threads come in and it's people saying the same thing that the developers have already acknowledged and said they are going to fix. But I wasn't expecting any creative feedback from people anyways. Not to mention there are so many posts going by it isn't worth trying to get your few words in.

Pretty much. People make copies of the same threads all the time, crying about wanting X feature from Y game in, it's just a trainwreck of stupidity.

Hopefully they put the "Letter from the Producer" topics on the front page as well.

The FFXI boards are a little better, but the general discussion has been taken over by a bazillion topics regarding the Abyssea level requirement being too low or that it should go even lower.

You know, the whole level requirement thing makes me seriously think about something I've read from time to time regarding older MMOs like this. It's basically been said ("suggested") that players should just have the option of starting somewhere midway or better up the leveling climb after a certain point, possibly even brand-new players. It sort of makes sense. There's nothing gained from being a level 26 Warrior that couldn't be sorted out by just being able to start at 60. In FFXI's case, it'd make Maat's Cap almost ubiquitous, I guess. Even with major revamps to lower levels as WoW has just done, most people find them to be a tedious timesink more than engaging gameplay.

Sadly, it's because many people are forgetting the accomplishments and times-gone-by from the olden days of FFXI *wags cane* Now, all these young whippersnappers want is to be in the fast lane with their abysseas and double exp and fields of whatsit!

Back in my day, we were damn happy with what we had and we felt accomplished by the end of the day! You youngsters don't know the meaning of hard work! Now, where are my pills!? NURSE!

This 100x

The days of fighting for sky main camp partys for decos, forming MNK bones partyies in King's Tomb, getting full RNG party for Boyahda tree... we had to get creative just to earn decent exp, and 15k/hr was considered an above-average party back then. /shedtear

Just because it gets you all nostalgic doesn't mean that it was actually fun. Do you remember when you had to lfp for hours on end for a lot of your DD jobs? Do you honestly think shit like that was fun?

I've noticed you specifically trolling me on different threads. I respect the troll, but get off my dick bro, it's kind of annoying. Please, shut the fuck up. I don't think I said once that any of that stuff was fun, but was rather comparing the previous poster's comment to my own experiences in ffxi of old. Stop trying to be an internet tough guy, you're just appearing incredibly annoying.

I agree with Banter, since it was nostalgic doesn't mean it was better. I don't miss waiting hours to get a party as a DPS. I didn't even consider Dragoon, which I wanted to level, but didn't because no one wanted them. I don't miss the overly unbalanced job classes. I don't miss having to fight bots in Sky to get a damn NM item just to pop another NM. I don't miss the slow as hell leveling experience. I don't miss the ugly ass looking Haubergeons. I don't miss fighting for a piece of gear I never got in my 7 years of playing. I don't miss having to do skill chains with people every fight in an EXP party to take a mob down.

I could go on forever, but yea, I would take what FFXI is today over how it was years ago any time. But that is just me.

I garauntee you that if I was trying to troll you, you wouldn't find out about it. Just because you're getting your panties in a knot over because you don't know what the fuck doesn't mean that I'm specifically picking on you. I just pick apart your posts because they're absolutely terrible and hardly worth reading, and I do it to anyone else who posts with the same lack of quality that you do.

Really, it'd be quite obvious to anyone who even read anything posted here (which you obviously don't outside of thread titles) that I don't specifically target any one person besides maybe Rambus or some of the circle jerkers in the DRK forums.

Or because the internet is one of your favorite places to visit. Don't lie, you enjoy forum trolling.

Seems a lot of KI people are making their way to the forums. Cream Soda especially is everywhere...with that damned Beiber sig.

Still, it's becoming a mess already. General Discussion is the worst. I gave up trying to post anything there. Every time someone makes a post, there's a good 10 people that not only say they disagree, but make it very clear how much of a moron that player is.

...and then those 10 people make topics of their own, and the cycle continues.

Do you have something against the internet? Because it sounds like you're holding a grudge.
