So I did a search and came up with nothing in the past 2 years for monks and Operation Desert Swarm,

I know Pld could solo it with Aegis and I believe Monks did with /dnc.

My question is now with the level cap to 90, how easily and with what gear/sub options would be required for a solo attempt to be made?

well, I would think a BLM solo would be easiest, I think that for the most part what little I did see of Monk soloing it was /DNC and a fair amount of meds. I am sure if you youtube there are videos though youtube's resolution does not lend itself to seeing all that is happening. otherwise, I believe for the most part it was a standard TP kit kind of fight. the better question I suppose, is "why?".

Ignoring the question of why, this was solo'd by 75 Monk/Dancer, albeit before the Waltz nerf. At 90, it should be trivial /Dancer. I don't know that I'd want to try it with any other sub, given the propensity for AoE TP attacks.

fillerbunny is right, though, in that Black Mage is likely the easier route. Sleepga and nukes of your choice should make the fight far less harrowing all around.

Only "big" money drop from there now is Serket Ring at 100k.

With SE trying to revamp old content would be nice to see them add AF3 +2 upgrade items to old BC's like this.

While I'd love to see an expansion of rewards, because I have more BS/KS stored than I know what to do with, I think that we are going to see expansion of these drops via the Kindred/High Kindred Seals next month. God willing a storage option for the damned things is introduced, at the very least.
