As the title says, is there anything challenging left in the game to do? I quit just before the level cap raise to 80, as I figured they would completely ruin the content they already had in the game. From what I have been reading, this is true (correct me if I am wrong).

I would love to come back to the game, but I don't see the point if everything is handed to you on a silver platter. Is there anything that requires skill anymore on XI, or is it just a matter of time before you get all of the best pieces of gear handed to you?

Please don't take this is me flaming the game being easy. I am simply trying to find out if it is worth coming back as far as challenging endgame content goes.

If you started during US PC release like I have then compare to today's challenges it's a damn joke.

I quit back in the middle of ToAU and have done a few things here and there since. If you played before ToAU and liked the community and atmosphere, you're probably not going to find the current FFXI fun.
