For a Wi-fi only model, $249.99. For Wi-fi/3G, $299. 3G will be made availbe in the states via AT&T. No word yet on price of service or if a contract is required. Odds are good that it will be along the same lines Apple's iPad 3G: no contract and ~$20.

Yeah, that was an unpleasant almost surprise.

EDIT:

Actually, no, it was a total surprise considering that Verizon is getting Xperia, the PlayStation phone.

I'll probably get the Wi-Fi. No way in hell I'm paying 50 dollars more for a 3G model just have to pay a monthly as well.

I know it's probably wishful thinking, but it'd be great if PSN+ members got the 3G monthly fee waved lol.

Playing games over 3G will be fucking garbage anyway. That shit can't even browse the web without lagging, I can't imagine how it'll work (if at all) with a high-definition game.

It's not like you'll get coverage anywhere with AT&T anyways.

Necro bump. I got A Wi-fi Vita and love it.

Except for the shit pricing of the proprietary memory cards.... Thankfully, I hit GameStop up on several trade in deals and got rid of that god-awful paper-weight called the Wii. Paid nothing for the system, a 16GB card, Uncharted, and a carrying case.

Now if only Sony could hurry up and get the the full PSN library of PSP and PS1 games available for it...
