So I bought FFXI through Steam and I'm having issues installing it and running it.

When I click on to run playonline it says "Class not registered". So my question is that, if I'm in Windows Vista, Do I still need to download the Vista POL from playonline.com?

I did the same (bought off steam) about a month ago. never had any problems though... try reinstalling?

Yes, I've had that same problem also but downloaded the vista pol and everything was fine after that.

Warning: I don't know if anyone else experienced this but when I try to reconfig the settings (graphics, controller, etc) in the ffxi config through Steam. I always have to reinstall the playonline viewer.

I used to play on Xbox and now got a new PC so i bought FF @ Steam, all installed and updated took me almost 4 days duo to work so i dont rly wanna reinstall if not rly needed ><
Now when i try to change my graphic settings nothing happens... i get no error msg or so and it says the changes are saved but when i start the game i still got the same shitty graphics and its set to the absolut MINIMUM!!! cant get it into windowed mode too... wondering if anyone else had this issue and if there is a way to get it solved without the need to reinstall..

you need to to some regedit changes(look at ffxiclopedia graphic guide) and download windower.net for window mode.
