Sup guys, i've been giving a lot of thought about whether or not i want to come back. I know these forums are pretty much dead, but i know some of my old friends probably still pop in and check it out.

So who all that i know is still playing? oh and i haven't played in over a year, how much adjusting would i have to do with abyssea having taken over?

I was trying to come back about a month ago but I can't seem to get a card to work with the new verified by visa thing. My old cards don't work for some reason. Guess it's a sign? I got your message Blev and to be honest I haven't checked KI in months. HI CK!!!!

Hard to believe its been like six years since i was last on... i mainly play priests in WoW now... I was hoping that FFXiV would be good, but the mountain of problems kept me away... I think we tend to romanticize our pasts. FFXI was a very challenging grindy game. But it did have something that Wow can't touch, community. We really did get to know each other back then.

I actually do remember Sabarath

That said, I'm inactive. Considering playing, but not sure if it's worth the effort, or even doable for myself and Loial with a baby and another on the way. Stuff like WoW = easy with kids. FFXI = hard if you have something as restrictive as a full time job and require 8 hours of sleep

I remember some of you from this thread. I'm also extremely thankful that I got the bannhammer during that Salvage Duping ordeal even thought I got NOTHING out of it. Can't even believe how long ago that was but out of any MMO I have played since, the community of XI always sticks out. I don't think there ever will be one as good as that was.

I haven't played since what like.... 2005/6? I can't even remember now. I remember almost everyone from back then. I played a bit of DDO 2 months ago, still may get back into it when I get some more downtime.

As you get older, everything changes. We went from full time gamers into husbands, wives, parents, or people who became more demanding in the workforce or society.

The most remembered society I was ever a part of was from 2003 to 2006 and in 2010 within the virtual environment of FFXI. I was well remembered for doing the most craziest things and made multitudes of friends online. Since then, reality hit harder then ever and growing up never seemed so much fun. Virtually or physically, getting social interaction is still a necessary benefit of growing up and maturing.

I may never go back to FFXI, but will always miss the fun we once shared, long nights LFG and crafting, and all the events which kept us up for hours and hours.

I have no idea why I decided to look up KI this morning but I did and its cool to see so many people I remember. I quit in December and gave my account away. I swore off MMOs all together and decided to get my life together.

FFXI did have a great sense of community. It seems silly but the first people I came out to were online, it was a nice easy step. Now I spend my time trying to undo the damage I did to my body while playing games (yay for running and P90X) and interacting with people around me. I'll always miss FFXI but for me I had to take control of my life, also I hate alternate reality story lines, for some reason they just seem cheap to me.

FFXI was great but SE let us down. XIV was a total let down. There isn't really any games worth your time right now. Diablo 3 and Guildwars2 come out soon.... until then maybe try RunesOfMagic. Runes of magic is free and truely is amazing to play. No game is as amazing as XI was though. The quests, crafting, time to level, cinematics, and boss fights make FFXI the best mmo in history. Even wow cant compare to the depth xi had.

Hope yall are doin great still. I keep in touch with a few oldies on facebook. Its still interesting that elec and Alexika had a baby, but news! they are finally engaged.
