Basically this is my problem, I recently bought FFXI off Steam and activated my account. I know on the first they're making all the changes to Square Enix Accounts. Now I wasnt sure if id get charged even with my free 30 days. I remember someone saying that this would happen if you started close to the first. So I cancelled my Content ID since I had to use my dads CC and I cant exactly use that (I plan on paying with Ultimate pay cards when the first rolls around, I just wanted to start early).

My problem is character reactivation wont be back up till "Late August" so will my character be unplayable after the first? Or will I get to play a good ways into August?

Ok... Let's see here... Typically the billing occurs on the 2nd day of the month in the USA. Still, what you'd want to do is go into the POL viewer, and from the screen right before you start FFIX (before the warning about friends and family and all that) you'd want to go to the content ID page, and cancel whatever IDs you have.

Now, when you roll over, you don't need to worry about the reactivation services. That only applies to people who quit a long time ago as far as I know. You should be able to reactivate an ID at any time once it's been canceled as long as it's been canceled for less than a year.

Your other option is to just change your billing when you can. Get your SE ID billing info ready, and then place that as the primary billing option. of course, you'd still need to pull your dad's card off in some way. Worst case scenario, you just owe your dad for whatever gets charged to his card.

But going with your primary plan, you shouldn't have to worry about not being able to reactivate, unless I've missed something.
