I feel like I need to start off by saying SquareEnix/PlayOnline is the probably the most unprofessional, discourteous, unhelpful, and generally the rudest company I have ever done any business with.

I have been away from FFXI for about 2 years now and recently decided I wanted to start playing again. I tried contacting PlayOnline to recover my ID when I was told, simply, that the account had been deleted, and there was nothing they could do for me. I'm aware that the ToS states accounts may be deleted due to periods of inactivity, but when I asked for the ID anyway to pursue other methods of reactivation or salvaging anything from my account, they refused to give it to me.

Is there anything anyone can suggest? My account had about 650 days of playtime logged and I'm really not interested in starting from scratch.

Stop crying and start over. 2years of playtime is nothing. I started over after playing 6 years (and getting hacked and wiped). Its really not that hard especially now.

Maybe the super Fast easy EXP and the High availability of EXP opportunities. Caps being removed, Way higher level people helping out so content is easier to clear with less people. There are a ton of ways that make the game easier to start over.

Evertyhing. You can hit 95 (Think that's the cap) within a week, good gear doesn't take forever to get, and a few other things.

Also did you try to apply for the character reactivation on the main page by any chance? http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/crs/
