I installed ffxi with my Thoshiba and I know its probably a reaccuring issue, just cannot seem to resolve it. My laptop is not very old but this is what the info entails:

My first guest would be your graphics card.
Your Radeon X1200 is an integrated graphics processor and while some IGPs will be able to run XIV, the x1200 is quite old and might not be able.

Check to see if your drivers are up to date and try downloading the benchmark and see if you're even able to run that.
