Mage subs give low xp, you will always need to equip most of your MP. In my opinion RDM is better for soloing then WHM because it has a bit better melee stats and you get more debuffs (Blind can save you a lot of damage). I've seen up to 1000xp an hour soloing level 49 DRG/RDM.

DRG/WHM is better though, because dragoon have high MND stat and low INT

Let's not push it. DRG mind is higher than most melee, but it is by no means "High."

RDM sub is better.

RDM sub

is better on multiple levels. Yes you lose out on some spells, like Poisona, and that can

hurt. But if you're farming, bring an Antidote or four with you anyway. In terms of helping

yourself. RDM can use poison, which is the cheapest spell to activate a breath. Which is

nice, and the other essential debuffs. As an Elvaan though it'll hurt a little bit since

your INT is naturally kinda low, but it works.

so far

I've only gotten my drg up to 25 with a whm sub and it's helped my party out of quite a

few jams so far. At lvl 25, I can pull off 3 cure 2's as a taru. If I time them right, my

wyvern will kick in a healing breath 2 for every cure 2 which gives me 6 cure 2's in times

of great need. It's worked out pretty well for me in qufim.
