ur choice between war or nin. as for samurai, why are people so WS crazy? if most dmg dealers have to hold back their max even at level 30 why do people think spamming your strongest attack over and over is good...

rng/sam is for building up massive ammounts of TP before they fire it off. For Ranger higher TP = Higher accuracy. It makes sense for them because then they fire off that finishing shot with sidewinder and have a higher chance of connecting at 300% TP.

not samurai when its subbed you get an incredible 60 tp WOWOWOW
they have no other good abilties besides third eye which is basically useless because rangers rarely get hit and when they do it will be for more than 1 hit...
WS crazy=more hate= more MP lost on the mages=less chaining=less exp=less people that want to party you once they realize you just spam your WS

Uh... Swindler, you're underestimating Sam sub-job a little too much. Don't forget that the skill Meditate isn't everything. Normal bow shots already give us approximately 12%-14% TP per hit (can't remember exact number), now don't forget that the Sam sub-job will also give us Store TP which will increase TP per hit add Meditate to that and you get a LOT of TP very quickly.
Just as quick example on how fast you can get TP (You probably don't want to do this though... lots of hate):
1. Get TP to 100%+ with normal hits (Ranged and Melee).
2. Use WS.
3. Get TP to 100%+ with Barrage and normal hits.
4. Use WS.
5. Get TP to 100%+ with Meditate and normal hits.
6. Use WS.
Assuming you have no misses, you can easily pull this off in a very small amount of time. Since Store TP will also be in effect....

either sam:
you can unload tons and tons of damage in a short time, and make your mages hate you
nin:
dual weild accuracy knives, and boosted agi from nin, plus utsusemi for when pulling / if you get agro
war:
berserk is great plus i'm not sure if double attack works with bows, but that'd be great if it did.
/shrug my ranger is lvl 1, i don't know what i'm talking about maybe, just going by what i've seen by other rangers, plus 2 friends of mine are 50+ rng.

smurv, you didn't complete the equation.
TH + widescan + flee = teh win
TH + widescan + flee = teh win

Cwolf do it and see how fast you die samurai is a deathtrap Sub for any job other than a tanking WAR.
you let out all that and youll be long gone even if the pld pulls a cover
Rangers are to be conservitive, pulling hate means as a said before
More hate=more MP lost on the mages=less chaining=Less exp
do all you want but pulling hate is a no no for a ranger

I mentioned that already... I said "You probably don't want to do this though... lots of hate".
Anyway, even if you're being conservative, having over 200%TP everytime you do Sidewinder (Accuracy affected by TP) is a good thing right?
And if you do get bored, you can always chain WS after WS near the end of the fight where you're pretty much guarantee a swift death to the mob. Having a Sam sub-job is similar to how you would play a War sub-job. You have to time your nukes. If you want to just unload a WS every chance you get, I suggest Nin sub-job since you'll have Utsusemi: Ichi and/or Utsusemi: Ni to take some hits for you.

subbing sam is good for boss battles when u want to kill the enemy fast as u can, like bcnm or somthing. subbing warrior is good cause u have berserk to raise ur attack and hti for more. ninja is good if u want to use 2 archers kinfes(doh!) but i dont have a prob with accuracy so i sub warrior cause berserk is nice.

I went
with nin though, i have found the accuracy boost to be very nice and since i am in a set
party with no possible pullers other than me i must do it so Utsusemi helps alot. With my
equip i have now, i have +11 agility +40 rnged accuracy and in one lvl i iwll have both
drones to up me to +17 agility. As of now if i fire a shot i can count on a 95% chance to
hit, and if you must count on trying to renkei or massive dmg to finish off a sour battle
nin gets you the accuracy you need.
As far as war i have some friends that took that
path. It has worked out fine for them, they complain though about their dmg drawing too much
hate and their accuracy failing them more often. So IMO war is a major damaging sub that
requires a little more patience and a lot more timing of shots to avoid hate.
ON the
sam subject i have never considered it though i have been told that sam are great with bows
so subbing it would make sense, though i find my WS get me into a lot of trouble thus
multiple WS without that all powerful blink, and you are in trouble. I do agree that added
tp is good for accuracy but i find you wont need that if you sub nin.

well
my opinion is ranger/warrior if you want the best damage as far as rang/sam youlol get even
more hate and most likely die the fastest and first as healrs cant heal you fast enouph
firing WS off continuously
and as far as sidewinder is conscerned it is basically the
rangers equivelant of pentathrust you get 13%+ tp back
as far as accurraccy save your
sharpshot for your sidewinder
and there are many many acc+ iotems quite pricy but they
make a huge differance
me im brutal i like to kill fast and chain fast so ranger/warrior
for me
i love it !

I'd say
NIN or WAR are your best bets for the reasons listed. WAR is probably going to put you at
the best average damage output, while NIN does offer that awesome Ranged Accuracy increase.
And I'm going to have to back what the others where saying earlier, everyone seems
so WS crazy and having melee put up as much damage as possible. It's funny cause everyone
screams at the BLMs to watch their nukes, but these are the DRKs and RNGs and whatever else
trying to put up loads of damage and getting hate from mob and then complaining to the tank
(wait, what? isn't that the same exact thing nuking BLMs do. . . hrm. . .)

Well
what race are you? mithra and taru dont really NEED an agi boost maybe a little strength. I
dont know. Im a lv20 taru ranger/ninja because i think dual wield is the shit and 2 archers
knives is +20 rng acc and at lv 35 i will have around +15 agi from +3 agi earrings (2), +2
agi rings (2) and then a few other stuff (cant remember the names.) and
cheifkabobs
Really it doesnt matter about the agi (as it can be easily fixed as
stated above, and you miss alot anyways before lv28) just want you wanna do. I do alot of
dmg with my bow right now so i didnt need the war boost, just wanted dual wield.
blah
blah! ^^

guys
really simple subbing sam isnt to go WS crazy Sidewinder is a high damage and very inacurate
attack accuracy depending on you TP so its not about unleashing it everytime you hit 100%
its about being able to stock 300% everytime and then letting it rip and hitting with it
everytime that is in my opinion the point of subbing sam but id only do it after 60 tho
