Dumb fishing tip

Well, It seems kinda simple, but I think it helps.

Whenever you fish don't move or attempt to move.

I have a PS2ish controller for my computer and because of all ther running it sometimes wants to go right. Well the controller has a "mode" button which turns the analog sticks off.

So, to make a long story short, I started fishing with the analog sticks off, and It seems to be doing a lot better.

And I haven't seen it effect anything with my crafting, but It could *shrugs*

Again, this is pretty dumb, but I hope it helps some other people out smile.gif

Hmm...I guess this is a problem that happens only with a PS2 controller. I've never had this problem with the keyboard.

PS: Anyone that says FFXI was made with a PS2 controller in mind is full of bull. If it was made for the controller, you wouldn't be able to talk to other people using a KEYBOARD.

Yeah, It was made for a keyboard in mind.

old school??? keyboards are more oldschool than any controllers

I use a controller, legit PS2 hooked via USB adapter. After using straight keyboard for a bit, I have to say I won't play the game any other way. Despite contrary belief, you can do a lot of things a lot faster with the controller than a keyboard (macros, selection, etc). But yeah, a keyboard is mandatory to have on hand.

I've never had a problem with fishing with the analog turned on personally. It might just be your controller or how you have the settings.

Though I've noticed a bug where I would make a half degree turn and still be fishing. I've seen it happened to other players as well. Not really annoying, you can still get bites, it's just funny to witness myself fishing in the pavement/ground. ^^;;
