Maybe already talked about, but to judge when to use Eagle Eye Shot is very tough it seems, cause once you use it OMG your dead if the mob isn't.

Does anyone use any kind of basic theory on when its best to use...or should a 2HR like Benediction come directly after or what. Problem is I was allianced with 16 people in Ordelle's Caves doing the ECO-WARRIOR Quest fighting the Necro...whatever you callit. The hit points were down to about 1/5 its total...I unleashed Eagle Eye Shot hitting it for 256 points, but it didnt die quite yet, then it pounded me three times and I was dead.

Any Advice on when to use it in battle would be greatly appreciated

uhh ... use it when the sh*t is hitting the fan. You're not a warrior, so you're job isn't to die instead of others - save it til the last moment. Use your best judgement. Usually if a battle starts going sour, i'll have teh PLD cover me, and I'll spam everything I've got (sidewinder or whatever lower WS you use, barrage and eagle eye). That usually takes a *huge* chunk of life, and with luck, you can finish off the mob before it finishes you off ^^

I use it against evens and toughs right before I log for that extra xp push.

Also, I use it when I can't seem to run away and the mob is near life, as a desperation attempt.

I used it once to pull a tough mob (I thought it would 1 hit kill it) too.

Since its sort of useless.. i use it when a mob is at 1/5 or so after i take hate with sidewinder and the pld has no time for cover, this doesnt happen often but when it does pop in an eagle and the mages saved at least 150 MP so then you can pull another mob

Interesting comments..and I thank you..but I'm mainly looking for trouble situations... Andre I understand the fact that I need to use it when things get bad...Im just interested in what most people use as a sign of when to use Eagle Eye...

I.E.
When a member goes down?
When we get aggroed by something and no zone to run to?
When mage runs out of MP?

Also, haven't seen it yet but say I use Eagle Eye Shot then WHM uses Bene right after which you think will draw the hate, me or the mage...Cause I keep any mage in my team alive as a priority, so I'm just curious on this as well.

Have the PLD use his 2 HR too ... supposedly it draws more hate than a Benediction ...

Similar situation in which our MNK used 100 fists while the PLD had invincible to keep hate ... it worked flawlessly ...

Lol, i use it before i log out, usually after Barrag and Piercing arrow(300 TP)<< iam only gonna do that when the mob is at leas at half health assuming it's it and IT. But if we (my PT) is in an emergency, like when the WHM is out of MPand he tank is about o die , i use EES and just head for the hills.

Use your best judgement. You can never go wrong with EES! Unless you die that is ...

i just make sure i use utsusemi ichi first.....its been a very long time since i've been killed using EES.

Use EES when things get danched, or to cap off a good party!! I love EES and use it anytime i can. i show it off also, fill up your tp, then ask your party to sit and watch as you kill an IT all by your lonesome.

SS -> Pull -> TP -> EES = one dead IT

you may want to pump an extra arrow or two in them before EES but it works. magic using Gobys are the only thing I've used this on, but i've done it over ten times with no deaths 4 of them were solos (why share the xp, you did all the work)

Rgr is the best job bar none im only lvl 20 but i can bring the pain =)
two thing i did are camp NM for your equipment, only the best will do and two find a high lvl rgr and ask him for advice only!!!! Wisdom is free and freely given (don't ever ask for a handout)

i use it when the mob was a little harder then i expected. at the end so i finish him off. if we get aggro by a mob that is hard as hell and we have no chance. i am not going to use it. i just run like hell and hope i zone before the others .if there is a mob pop when i pull i just sit there and die to save the others or(most of the time) i shadow bind the one on me and get the other one and kill it first. mages or bard will sleep the other one when bind weres off.i might use 2 hour to kill it quicker then move on to the next one.or u can go to west ron and use it one a worm near chastle. hehe its just like spam in a can.

The only

time I have used this other than showing off, is when a MOB spawns and it will aggro. If the

MOB we are currenlty fighing is near death than I wont use it. I will just change targets

and pump it into the 2nd MOB near the death of the first one. Then hope to god everyone else

read my rants of a spawn! - and cover me.

I have used it in the Maze several times -

as a RNG/WAR I will voke a loose IT gob while everyone heads for the zone - if they stop and

fight I will unload the EES into it and or TP. If they keep running I run to and the WAR and

I will trade voke when HP is low till we reach zone.

Im a Galkan to , so I can take 4

or 5 smacks from an IT mob .... considering.

Had to add something, in the Maze I will

use it if there are 2 MM's right on each other. I pump EES into one and it takes about 10

seconds for the party to kill it. Then we get on the other one quickly.....

EES is

awesome, though the only time i used it was when i was soloing lvls 1-24. I stuck around

lots of worms and a EES was always a great idea when you get links or worse, near death.

around lvl 25 for fun i wen t to Qufim and we took a chain or giants...used it to save the

party for the most part. Sadly this included death. I think EES is a last resort, a show

off, and a nice way to end a great party. ( note: not all of the 24 lvls were soloed..i did

recieve whm PL for the first few lvls in the harder zones)

On a tangent i personally

love bows but at my lvl i am constantly told to use a gun until i can get lvl 55 and 2.4 mil

for my bow. How founded is this, can i effectively use a bow through out my career or should

i continue lvling my marksmanship? (lvl 35 marksmanship, got from goldbat camping ^^)

whenver its up for that extra push to get to chain 6 usually, don't tend to save it for

weeks, I use it when I can

for chains, or when I have to save my ass because I got too much aggro.
