Most of the time i'm using THF sub, only warrior if there is a thief in the party and a ninja tank so that i can provoke first and let thief SA/TA on ninja. Sneak attack + cross reaper is great, so far my max is 800 damage cross reaper with a 1200 damage darkness skill chain (2000 damage) the only problem with it is the hate you get if there is not a 2nd tank to trick off of, but with Lv3 renkei, monster dies quickly. The great sword 225 WS spinning slash or whatever is even better!

You sure about turning food off? I tried to turn a food off the other day that I ate just to see the affects, and it wouldn't turn off. I had to wait for it to run out.

You can't turn food effects off. I'm not sure why he said that,

because it simply is not true. If it were that simple, I'd be alternating between a Roasted

Papira, Mithkabob and Steamed Crab depending on my situation ... o.O

mongoose :

hey nohmann i don't know what you're smoking but drks are not made of

paper
they can wear some of the heaviest armor in the game
and you're elvaan
just

as long as you don't use berserk/last resort/souleater you can be as good a tank as

warriors without defender

Dark Knights *are* made of paper. ^^a Case in

point... with protect IV on, I have ~318 defense, give or take. It's not a very high amount

at my level... a whm friend of mine has ~287 defense with protect IV on...

Yes, we

are made of paper =)

Not really. I think you just chose that path with your EQ selection biggrin.gif

However, since we DRKs focus on other things (ACC, DEX, STR, etc) we can't tank like a

Pally can (VIT, AGI, etc). However, if we have to, we're not weak at all and can survive

hits.

The only time you'd never want to voke (I sub WAR, so my situation is

different from you and maybe one reason why your DEF is low /point to Meo's sub) is when

you have trashed your def in favor of atk with LR or Berserk. If you stack them ... better

have blink on ... @_@

I can take a few hits. It's impossible not to take any hit at

all. We get aggro from our abilities as a DRK. We just need to deal with it. However, as for

"weakness," I'm sure w/o stoneskin and blink on, your WHM friend would go down in 3

hits as opposed to you because damage taken isn't straightforward atk vs def math here ^.

~

I also found out that STR raises the damage curve and so I'm gonna put more STR

into my character now. Probably a balance of DEX, ATK, STR and ACC but I'll be damn on how

I'm gonna do that w/o a Hauberk/Haubergeon at the appropriate levels ;_;
