I'm essentially a fraps noob, so please go easy on me.

I took an .avi file through fraps. But the document/quality is huge. I'd like to do two things with it.

1) Make it a respectable size so I can send it to people (it's not that long, but it's a huge file)

2) Take a still from it.

What programs do I need to do this? Can i do it with anything I might already have? Why is the file so big? Can i save it as a different type to lower the resolution?

take a still is another option in fraps. You could also try the "printscreen" key and dump it into paint....
