Fishing past 30?

I'm currently lvl 29 fishing (also got another +4 from the gear) and I'm wondering what to do to skill up to 30 and beyond?
I'm currently trying to fish giant catfish and dark bass in the lake/river in west sar.. skillups are slow.. same with the cliff in west sar where I can get gold lobsters, ogre eel, pamtam kelp etc, in addition to the catfish and bass..
I can get to 30 no problem.. but once I hit 30 I'm totally clueless as to the best route to skillup.. (locations, rods, baits, lures, etc)
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

thanks in advanced!

yea I saw this on the ff-vault forums and followed it until now.. and at lvl 29 - 30 ish it starts to really slow down...
and also on the ff vault forum the original poster said he had to make some changes to the 30 - 35 range.. but was never clear on what to do specifically.

As you get higher in a "craft" level, the more time you need in order to see a skill gain. And fishing is THE slowest in terms of skill-gains. At my level in Leathercrafting, I usually have to make more then 20 items to get even a 0.1 gain in it. So...you should just follow the guide as best as you can I think unless someone else comes up with a better suggestion. Till then, the only thing you can do is hang on.
