I use Adobe Premiere

But i have a question if anyone can help me, this way we kill 2 birds with one shot

I use fraps to cpature videos, the i use dr. dicx to encode em and compress.

the problem is.. when i use premiere to edit the vids, they always are w/o sound and can't use em like i want, when i export the final work, they are sh*tty resolution.

So question is... Do i need any Plugin for premiere or any other video editing program i can use
Thank you ^^

I have a question too...

Tried messing around with a video for the first time tonight. I recorded it using FRAPS.

FRAPS saved it as a 3.1 gig file.. it's only about 6:30 long heh. So, trying to figure out how to make it smaller FRAPS said to use VirtualDub.

I downloaded that program and using the xVid option compressed the file down to about 32 meg. Not too shabby. biggrin.gif

Now the problem I have is trying to add sound to it using that program. It seems to only work with .wav files, so I converted a .mp3 to .wav and selected it in VirtualDub.

When I view the video in program with the audio it works fine, but it will not save. I clicked save and chose a file name the same way I did for compression, but the file saves as a 12KB file that can't be opened by any media program I have.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. ^^; Anyone that is familiar with the program or the whole compression/editing thing in genral that can offer any advice is appreciated.

I'm not looking to do anything fancy, just make my files smaller and add some audio.

Try Doom9.org(.net) They have many guides for Video compression/conversion and have 1 or 2 on Virtual Dub, Should explain most of those problems.

As for an editing program, I use premiere and monjeshaolin, u need to make sure that premiere has the plugin/codec for whatever sound format you are using or else it cant recognize it.
