Sure!
You get the double-dragon (both attack and support), and it balances out the sheer attack of
the drg nicely. I was a drg/pal for a while, but then got tired of lvling pally. ^^ However,
I reccomend drg/drk more, because it enhances damage. But try it, and see what you think.

Lots of
debate about that it seems...
Cons of sam: Spamming = annoying and not helpful to
group (dunno on that). Very inaccurate. i guess the right equip would fix that np though

...DRG/SAM rocks....just from what I've seen thus far...spamming penta thrust over and over
and over again does some crazy damage...but it does suck for people like me... A PLD.
That's cause they generate too much hate. DRG aren't tanks, so I don't feel it is in
their best interest to sub WAR except for defense and attack bonuses and later on double
attack.

i'd have to say that might work but I am currently not an Adv. job so I can't really
judge..

/pld is pretty pointless. your magic would be so useless that you would never use it
anyways, and as a drg your defense is never gonna be anything amazing. this combo plays just
like a drg/war but worse.

Jeez
what's the world coming to? I actually agree with b00s here. DRG/PLD is one of the worst
combos you can take.

No no^^
*WORST* combo would be DRG/BLM hands down. PLD at least gives chance of healing breath every
now and then.
Again, /SAM /WAR /THF /RDM /WHM are really your best combos (in that
order somewhat although the first three are all equals in one form or another)

DRG/PLD,
it is good for solo. More defense + healing. All the Paladin magic you will get (except
Banish which is not much use to begin with) is healing and enhance so the 1/2 skill will
never be a major issue (your heals will always be capped because you are twice the level a
Paladin would be to get it). Paladin DEX isn't that good though. It is a lot more effective
then DRG/WHM because you also get the attack breath, and getting the status cures and
healing breath every once in a while is a good thing (status cure breath is not WHM only
despite popular belief). It really won't be too useful for groups as compared to other
subs.
By the way DRG/mage will always have poor MP, you have 1/2 or your 1/2 level
sub's MP. You will always have to bolster it with +MP equipment so the fact you won't get
as much MP is not a significant issue.
DRG/PLD is workable if you want to try it. May
not be as good as other subs, but it isn't a useless sub.

If I
ever see PLD subbed it makes me cry. Such a waste of a sub, but yeah chosing a good sub for
a DRG is hell. I've gone almost insane trying to pick out which one I want.
DRG/WAR-
Berserk and added Strength is nice
DRG/SAM - lots of Penta Thrust *drool*
DRG/THF -
accutually be able to hit on WS more is lovely
Torn between choices *sigh*. Sometimes
alot of choices is bad.

I'm
a Dragoon/Samurai and it's absolutely lovely! I'm an Elvaan so of coursethe low accuracy
comes into play, but with Battle Gloves +3 ACC, Life Belt +10 Acc, and Dex Rings +2 per
hand, doesn't get much better. Yes Yes, I do miss on my Penta on a few hitts, but roughly
about 70/80% of the time I'm hitting at lest 4-5 times every Weaponskill. (note to all,
don't use Penta against beetles, 100-120 dmg max even if you hit well) Anyways, my TP
return right now at level 52 on a perfect Penta-Thrust is 66%, jump, another attack and I
can be ready for Penta again, I can't wait to see the return at lvl 60. I will keep
Samurai as a sub, warrior sub is nice but I hated trying to level warrior, almot never a
party b/c people always ant paladins instead. I will use sub thf for fun PTs and farming
though, can't beat TH and Steal. Other than that, I'm looking forward to levelling
Samurai and getting later weaponskills, which I heard Vorpal and Impulse Drive are awesome
weaponskills for renkeis. Can't wait to try it for myself
Good luck..
On the
comment of Drg/Pld. Don't worry about it, I was a Drg/Drk for almost 25 levels, and from
what i understand it's about the same both ways for PLd. It may seem nice having a dual-
skilled wyvern but you hardly ever use the cure breath. And MP gets hurt so bad, i was
level 20/10 Drg?drk and i only had 19 MP..just short of catsing drain. Using MP boost items
also hurts your attk/accuracy when those slots could be filled with better items to increase
your Main JOb ability and not just barely help your sub ability. Concentrate on Dragoon
powers, attk/accuracy/attk, and choose a job that best fits that, otherwise you aren't much
more than a pitiful caster and a mediocre damage dealer. Enjoy the Dragoon though! It is a
spectacular class!

I made
it to level 20 with DRG/BRD (wasn't all that bad, but I wanted to go back to full melee) so
it isn't like groups won't pick you up.

When I was
in Khazam I saw a Drg/Rng.... It made me want to ram a pencil in my eye.

Worst
I've seen is DRG/NIN dual wielding swords, I asked him why he would do that and he actually
tried to justify it. The fact I capped swords with my DRG and know just how weak they are
compared to lances just makes me see how ridiculous it is.

good thing i found this.. i was about to go unlock PLD cos i figured the +defense + healing
breath +to skilled Khocha +undead killer (which will help with all the nasty undead) would
be good for a sub >.

What
about DRG/BST or DRG/SMN? can't you have a Wyvern and a beast tamed or a avatar out at the
same time?
