Im a lvl

yes
we are in the 60s and as a galkan you will make a great war as your main job cause you have
high hp and high VIT so you can tank very good and back-up tank very good and still deal dmg

Another
reason War is one of your BEST classes: you don't have any spells. As a Galka Pld, I'm
CONSTANTLY having troubles with my TINY amount of mp; 51 at level 26, and that's WITH two
Onyx earrings. As a War/mnk my job effectiveness was never hurt by this, because all of my
abilities were either constant traits or on timers.
Galka are arguably the best
Warrior race in the game, even though other races can still make good Wars. If you like
having that huge HP bar, wou should try subbing Mnk and using a Gaxe; you'll never go back
.
Counter ROCKS.

Yeah I
agree, Galka make awesome pld's except for the fact they have very low MP, you'll get a
bit more mp as a Galka drk, but it will still be pretty low. Not to say both of these
aren't great choices given the fact that mainly, Galka are tough melee characters.
But if you sub monk with war, and use a great sword or a great axe, you will get
some awesome job traits and attributes, and your vit and hp will be even higher. I subbed
monk with my warrior, and it is one of the best melee combinations for non advance jobs in
the game, if not THE best (if you go by stats)
Dragoon isn't really great as a sub
because their attributes don't stick out in a crowd, the Dragoon's biggest asset is it's
wyvern.

I just
want to say as a level 50 Dragoon the wyvern isn't that big of an asset if you aren't
soloing. It is extra damage, but the most important qualities of Dragoon are the Jumps, the
Accuracy Bonus, and the fact the best Polearms are all DRG only.
Subbing Dragoon for
High Jump and Accuracy Bonus may work pretty well in certain cases. I never sub it
personally, but I just wanted to set it clear that the wyvern is not the whole point of
Dragoon. For example I did 1308 damage on one skill chain and the wyvern did 56 damage with
the right breath attack.

Ultimately, it's up to you; me, I recommend taking Mnk to 20 or so starting ASAP. Then
you won't have to worry about it for awhile as a War... and at the very least, you'll be
able to keep it subbed to 30, at which point you can always try out dragoon and see if you
like it or not.
One thing that's nice about mnk (oh, and make sure you sub War with
it. The two are largely interchangeable in effectiveness at the lower levels, but you'll
want the Defense, Str, and added HP of the warrior, in addition to things like provoke while
you're a mnk) is at those lower levels it's a spectacularly productive solo class (even
though you'll still have to rest between every couple of fights), and it's got one of the
SCARIEST 2-hours in the game with 100-fists.
Thf is also a possibility, since you
have levels in it, but you wouldn't see the big payouts of the thf class (which start at
lvl 15) until you hit 30 as a mnk, and that is a good while off yet.
But yeah, I
recommend starting on the mnk; you'll be a BEAST as a mnk/war, and a SUPERBEAST as a War/
mnk once you get those mnk levels up there and switch back. And, of course, you'll get
another low-level cash crop from frequent items drops which will help fund some of the
better low-level War gear out there (or Dragoon, for that matter... the stuff's mostly the
same at that level anyhow, especially the armour).
One last thing; make sure that, be
it as War or Mnk or what-have-you, that you hold on to your Bone, Beetle and Chain stuff in
case you DO decide to go with Dragoon. It shrinks the inventory, but boy does it save on
the cash... I've taken my bone armour through three different jobs, now, and not having to
re-purchase it has been a big gil saver.
Whatever you do, just make sure to level
your subjob in advance; it'll save you the hassle later. It helps if you love both your
main and your sub, of course... man, I can NOT wait to get back into my War gear and crank
off a Sturmwind on some poor mob.

Galka
are best tanks. I don't think it is worth your time to go all of the way back thru levels
1-30 just to try and be a ddealer. You would be happier as a 50 WAR than as a 30 DRG, say, a
month down the road.

Yes! Be
a WAR! The higher lvls really need more good fighters, and WARs are so scarce, but so
neccesary. WARs make the world go round, my friend... especially speaking from the
standpoint of a WHM. Good provokers have saved my little healer buns on more than one
occasion.
You could sub drg, because contrary to popular belief, it isn't about the
WYVERN. In the old games, we didn't even get a freaking wyvern. It's about the sheer
damage that we do, the massive tp (not equal with SAM, but still good), and the powerful
jumps. However as a WAR, your focus is on defense not on attack, so DRG might not be what
you want to go for. As a galka, stay with THF, so you hit as much as other races (except
elvaan, who suck with that too). Either that, or try subbing PLD. Who knows! But do whatever
you like, and yes, it IS very very worth it to stay a tank. You get many parties that way.

It's all about doing what you love.
When I got my war to lvl 18, I
started to work on thf as a subjob for it. I then discovered that thf was really fun,
especially past lvl 15. Now, it's my main. But I still love war, and am actually looking
forward to lvling it as subjob. And yes, Galka make awesome wars. We have big STR (second
only to Elvaan) and, contrary to popular belief, we have exactly average dex (we do NOT miss
more often than taru and hume, thankyouverymuch). Back before I picked up thf, I was THE
tank with my polearm, and I had loads of fun with it (watching everyone else plink Snippers
for 1-5, while I'm poking it for 20-35).
And yes, a Galka with a 2-h weapon can
still tank wonderfully well at higher lvls. My favorite tank in Seraph is a Galkan lvl 39
war/mnk with G-Axe.
