I

would try to keep your subjob ten levels ahead of half your main.

No,

switch to your war if you're planning on using PLD as an advanced job. Why level monk

anymore if you know it won't benefit you anymore. Atleast you won't have to worry about

lvl'ing your sub for war though.

You might

even want to overshoot with warr. Go to lvl 37 because:

A) You are already in the

mindset of warrior - Don't change it up. You'll be in the groove and, at 37, you'll have

your subjob for Paladin set all the way to 75. If you plan on going that far, that is.

cool.gif The paladin quest is hard. Losing exp because of dying sucks. A 7 lvl buffer

between you and 30 is more than enough to be comfertable with ^^

Also, saving some of

the more expensive and hard to get pieces of armour on your way to 30 is helpful. I saved my

suit of chainmail cause it was just... A royal PAIN to get that. Didn't want to do it again

when I got PLD to 24.

Yeah

if you are going PLD switch to WAR as main.

Like someone else said at least you will

never have to lvl MNK again as your sub for war.

Almost all PLD are PLD/WAR/MNK... so

you only overshot your total MNK lvl goal by 11. (75 PLD/37 WAR/13 MNK is the end goal) so

not too much wasted time there.

From the japanese site, mystery tour. There are armor and weapons for post 75 (lvl 80 to

be exact). As safety, level WAR to 40. ^^

Just

as advanced jobs tend to be less suited for subs, the starting 6 jobs seem to be excellent

subs for many classes until you hit the higher levels with your main. WAR is one of those

jobs that leveling to 30 (or 37 for PLD) can't do anything but help you in the long run.

Phlow made a good point - if you've been playing WAR consistently then you don't confuse

yourself by constantly changing jobs and having to play different roles all the time. I

went from leveling BLM to leveling WHM to leveling MNK, and the difference is pretty big.

I agree

with Phlow and Lotus and the rest, here, Beast (love the name, btw). You're following

exactly the same job path I did getting to pld; I went War until I could sub, switched to a

Mnk sub until 18 or so, then went back to War until 30 so I could hit my Pld quests.

Worked like a charm... and the best thing was that, even as a mnk, my role in a

party never changed. Mnk doesn't start to really hurt until later levels as a main tank if

you sub War (and happen to have silly amounts of HP because you're a Galkan). You're on

the right track... now it's time to start cranking your War again, bro. Oh, and what Phlow

said about saving your War gear is TOTALLY right. I saved my entire bone, beetle and chain

sets so that I wouldn't have to purchase them again following my switch to Pld, and that

alone halved the amount of time it took to get my pld high enough to use it all.

Make

sure you're training up your sword-and-shield style, too. I switched to Gaxe after about

13 levels or so, but in retrospect I should have maxed both as I went along. My shield

skill STILL isn't maxed... and unfortunately, the only way to get THAT leveled is to stand

in front of a mob and let it slap you silly.
