Just my experience of the day, er, wee-hours-of-the-morning --

Finished up exping with set, noticed Ancient Goobbue still sitting there unclaimed, so we ally up some bsts we know and have at it. (It was really just the bsts that did it, as having hate on AG is sucky...I barely touched it and had to PD ) After 4/8 deaths, we had it within 200 hp of death, and it goes unclaimed (as mobs are wont to do with bsts). Level 66 mnk in nearby exp party chi blasts it for that much for a last minute kill steal.

Name was Greenduck.

Ain't life grand? Spend 20 minutes dashing around like a madwoman helping kill/kite this stupid thing, half my exp party DIES, and for what? So some classless idiot can have the kill.

All I said was that the mob should be claimed by someone, if they couldnt beat it, so what, they tried, lost, WOW, it happens. So, what would you consider? the mob filling it's HP gauge back up, and waste someone's time again, when I could just come up and do WS and have a chance at the loot. HAHAHA, seems like only a person either very stupid, or blinded by pride would do this.

Vhalik... did you even read this part? The mob went unclaimed when a BST switched pets. It happens all the times. You think everytime a mob goes yellow some bystander should voke it or use Chi?

&, that sentence is kind of "Blah" anyway, "Makes sense, it does not." So basicly she said that the Monk waited (while in a PT I might add), for them to switch and then Chi Blasts it, if that even made sense, EVERYONE would have to stop attacking it for it to go Yellow, not just one, or two BST stopping. Lol, still makes sense, NO!

hey vhalik if you could actually read you'd know that there were still 4 people in the party alive, the only reason it went unclaimed was because the bst's were changing pets. it's HP wouldn't have filled up, and using that as an excuse to steal a mob from someone else is pathetic and stupid. it would have gone claimed again as soon as they stuck thier new pet on it. the mob was stolen, regardless of the morons who think that it going unclaimed while people are still fighting means it's fair game.

next time you're planning on making a smart ass comment do everyone a favour and STFU

when a beastmaster releases their pet ( to stop it dying to regenerate and swap to a new pet ), the monster will turn yellow, so yeah they in effect stole it, the party fighting it wasnt wiped.

Actually, for the record, I was part of the half that was still alive. At the time, I was headed back to the goobbue to see if a quick DE or something would end it when it dies

It's really too bad when someone has only a negative response to give and *still* has to resort to *fake* racism to feel better about their posts. (What's the deal with all the mithra-tarutaru comments? Someone not so happy being Elvaan after all? Too busy associating game-race sizes with the size of something else, perhaps? --overcompensating much?--)

Also, while we were in effect kiting this thing while losing claim, we were clearly visible to this guy *and* his exp party. We never left that area where he spawns, just ran around it a lot So he knew we were still fighting it.

And! If, as you say, you would have done the same thing, that doesn't make it ok -- it just puts you on the same level with asses like Greenduck.

After all, in the real world there is no claim system. When your car keys turn yellow, it's not suddenly o.k. for anyone nearby to claim them >.>

You are fighting the mob, your whole pty dies, and you complain about someone else killing it for themselves. Is AG's drop that good that people would actually do this to someone else, maybe you, (as in everyone on this thread), should send bash emails to Square Enix telling them how they can better improve the FFXI Claim System, instead... I don't care if he drops pebbles and 1 gil, we did 99.999% of the work, and got shafted. Our kill.

Suffice it to say that you can justify the steal all you like -- but it doesn't cut it. Just because SE's claim system is flawed doesn't make it that person's "right" to take it because it's currently takeable. It's exactly like saying ... well, your wallet is in arm's reach, so, I guess it's mine now. Hmm.

Separate the claim system and the TOS/SE's policy from RL ethics for a moment. Maybe then you'll get it.

Would I claim it, if the whole PT died... the answer is yes. If I was the one there instead of that MNK, You would have still killed the mob, NMs don't really catch my attention.

Other than Cactrot Rapido that is, i want revenge on him soo very badly.
