Ok, this is my first post. I just had a few questions and thought that i could help out a few low lvl bsts. First, from lvl 19-21 is where should you lvl (i was thinkin Buburimu but i have no idea). Next i can tell you that lvl 6-15 was hell for me.

lvl 6-9 was basically west ronfaure (no charming)
9-10 was ronfaure/la theine ( a little charming if your want some variety)
11-12 was hares and saplings in la theine
12-15 was basically funguars in the south east corner of la theine (theres a lake there with clippers funguars and a low lvl gob)
15 - hell i just killed stuff at the lake in la theine, luckily i was there when no1 was there took me a few hours.

i hope this has been some help to up and coming beastmasters. You dont have to listen to this guide directly, its more of a guideline. Thats the funness of bsts, u can go wherever u feel

15-17

snippers in Valkurm dunes
17-20 pugils in Valkurm dunes
20-23 worms/clippers in

qufim
23-25 pugils in qufim
25-27 mandragoras (jungle outside of Kazham)
27-32

mandragoras in yohoator jungle, gobs at 30 get there with choco
33-35 bats/beeltes in the

Citadel
35-40 worker crawlers in the crawlers nest
40-45 beetles deeper in the

crawlers nest (doom scorpions are fun)
45-50 crawlers nest, not sure what to fight (

soldier crawlers?)

this worked for me, but of course there are many more, less

congested areas to fight... most of the ones I listed have plenty of people

there

My spelling sucks, so take it easy on me

yes

they do. So many people think of bst as solo. Its what they do, but not the ONLY

thing

At around lv26 they group and are awesome, If they charm a mob Less than T no

xp loss for the group only the bst.

And bst familiars care GREAT for farming.

i think the only reason ppl pick bst is to play outside of PTs

cuz you can... wink.gif

lvling

for BST 1-12:

ronufare or sarutabaruta and then to next region out. (i don't really

lvl near bastok at all) solo the whole time up to 12.

lvling for BST 12-16:

la

theine plateau. from 12-15 you can use the lake in the most SE corner. thickshells and

fungars. do Even Match to Tough or Even Match to Even Match. *note: fungars are intimidated

by crabs, so use thickshells against the fungars if you can.

once you hit 16 head to

ordelles. outside there will be a couple of Even Match fungars to level up on, and inside

the occasional Even Match bat will be there. use bats against crabs or rabbits. bats against

bats is not a good idea, cuz they have this ability called jet stream that does 100+ dmg to

you or your pet :wall

lvling for BST 17-19:

i'm merely going on word of

mouth, or rather Oceanix's post on allakhazam.com for this, i myself am only 16 (1k tnl).

supposedly ordelle's is good up to lvl 19. nice thing about it, is no ppl there. it's

empty. the occasional high lvl will pass by, but outside that there is noone there to steal

your mobs smile.gif

lvling BST 20-23:

valkrum dunes

lving BST 24-33:

qufim.

although you can explore areas for yourself, these are just areas i

have heard of. good luck smile.gif

Maybe this will pump the post back up top.

I have been leveling in Qufim from like

24-29 and I am SICK of it....pretty much went Jugs against worms then crabs vs worms or bats

vs crabs and then crabs vs pugils or giants.
Someone told me that Batallia is good for

soloing 28-32, any insight on this or where to go after? I have the Tigerhunter axe (

parlysis vs tigers) so that will give me a little jump start in the Downs.
So basically I

just want to solo up until about lvl 35 or so because I get release then (so that means no

real XP drain on parties right) and then that way I can get a few lvls in a party and when I

get sick of stupid party politics I can go back to soloing. And yes like someone said

before, BST at times has every right to be in a party, but just becuase they are the "

soloing" class doesnt mean they have to solo, it just means that we do it the best and w/o

too many worries wink.gif

Well

...actually you should not be lvling qufim from 24-29...you should already be in Yuhtunga

lvling to about 32 there from 24. Even 32 is stretching it. From there go to Garlaige and

kill the single bats or beetles. Either that or go to Crawler's Nest and work on some

worker crawlers. They are always fun. Just some ideas...that shoudl get you to about 35

and such and from there you can work on getting deeper into those areas. Expect to be at

either one of those places and back and forth again for about another 11 lvls.

I

think from 29 I leveled to 30 in Qufim unfortunately. I either killed more giants or I went

into that tunnel north of the tower that has lots of bats (it goes for a while until you

zone into the next area). When I reached level 30 I gil farmed in Buburimu on easy prey

goblins and dhalmels until I almost hit level 31, then I hunted in Korroloka Tunnel (combats

and spiders).

After I reached level 31 I wasn't too sure of a good place to level so

I just went to East Altepa and tried to join parties. Eventually I got to level 35 from

partying but I also got some exp from killing spiders there when I couldn't get a party.

East Altepa seems like a popular place for BSTs after level 35 (beetles and

dhalmels) but I couldn't get the hang of it, it's so big and spread out and there are

parties there.

So at level 35 I went to Yuhtunga jungle and sat in one of the tunnels

to charm lizards and fight goblins with them. Some tunnels have 2 lizards and I just reused

them over and over against the goblins. At one point I tried fighting a young opo-opo that

checked as a Tough, that thing killed 3 pets and almost killed me too, I hate them but they

can be good pets if you can charm them.

From 36-40 I leveled in Sea Serpent Grotto.

I started off using leeches and bats to fight sahagins and bats. Then I started fighting

ironshell crabs and ghasts. I finally got revenge on those scythe-wielding ghasts that cast

nukes because they had killed my BLM when I was trying to do the ninja quest.

I'm

still at level 40, it seems like I could go the safe way and fight stuff in Sea Serpent

Grotto and East Altepa some more. But I tried two other places to see what it was like.

Behemoth's Dominion has bats, but then I got killed and it reminded me that I hate bats and

their jet streams. West Altepa has spiders, but then I got killed and it reminded me that I

hate spiders and their sickle slashes too.

Ummm... I wish I had better suggestions

for 29-35 but that's what I did with my BST.

Definetly is not the place for qufim, just went there to other day.Used a crab familiar to

fight a worm, it died almost 1/2 was through so I helped it out, after I defeated the worm,

I got 160xp and 160 hp remaining. Not to mention no pet, and Call Beast is 5 minute wait

time.

Clippers are tough ++++ at 23. I can only imagine going back to Qufim at 25,

until than I guess even/decents at Valkurm will do. It is pretty quick xp there anyways.

It seems to me thus far - I'm still pretty low lvl on this job - that charming a tough can be pretty risky business, if that thing goes uncharm in the middle of a fight and you can't recharm it right away, you got 2 tough mobs slamming on you.

Another thing I've learned.... BST do not take hits like PLDs ^^ even with a pld sub. This is a lot different than what I'm used to, and I've died a lot learning, but I am getting the hang of it more and more. Best part is... if I screw up, it's just me. I don't have to worry about the whole party dying or freaking out or if they're the ones doing the bad mistakes.

This is what I've done so far:

1-11 W. and E. Ron

at 12 I headed to La Theine, hit 13 last night, possibly will get to 15 tonight. I prefer to charm at this lvl, even matches and pit them against toughs. I haven't had too much trouble with it, the evens get the toughs down a lot before they die off, and I switch between scythe and 1h axe depending on what I'm fighting to kill the mob, and get the full exp. This probably won't - I assume - work for higher lvls, but I was talking to a bst last night, he told me that lvls 1-34 were pure torture, but after 35 it got a lot easier.

There is definately a lot to learn about this job, it's way different than warrior or pld, but it's fun.

I've become a horrible slacker of a beastmaster. I'll fish while my pet goes and kills. Generally, I'll charm an EM and send it on suicide runs, then if it fails, I'll charm whatever comes looking for the boss. Cuts my downtime.
