well as i wrote in the drg AF forum, thief AF is not easy. in fact, i have yet to receive ANY of the thief AFs. i run around and see many of those other bastard jobs with their lvl 52 AF. damnit! why must the gloves be the hardest ones to get. so here's what i've been doing. alright i buy 6 skeleton keys, get a instant warp scroll with CP, go to Davoi Monastic Cavern, use Tonke: Ichi until i can find a scroll. according to jps they say it pops every 30-60minutes (but i thought they changed it to random spawns from patch). so i run around, see a coffer, use key, fail about 4 times, 5 one fails and mimic pops. use 2hr, instant warp. try again. so far that's failed me 3 times, wasted over 20k buying those f'ing skeleton keys (the best ones), and all i get mimics.

second option i tried was getting pts to help me kill for a real key. so i did that. alliance of 12, 2 times. first pt lasted a good 3 hours, no keys but a bunch of those lvl 70 cap items (none for thief btw). uh so it ended. second time, 4 hours, same thing. only good thing bout it was me stealing a gold coin and jps got to lvl up their skills.

so for me getting my lvl 52 AF gloves, i'm 0-4. it pisses me off that my drg friend got his 52 and 54 AF so easily. and also, the f'ing monastic cavern has a ton of people in there too. lvl 65 genkai i was told and competition with blm for their af. anyway uhh just wanted to let you guys know thief AF is whack to the max. oh and if anyone has a site or something with coffer spawns, please PM me.

rdm af is no joke either from what I've read. Some of it is fairly weird.

.... because as I posted there, *picking* a coffer has almost a 0 chance of success. Your DRG friend, like me, probably went the safest route and got a *coffer key* which is dropped easily by mob. Gather a few friends together (well balanced pt) and get at it. THF Hand AF isn't *THAT* impossible. Most of my THF friends have already aquired this AF piece.

In Monastic Cavern the things that will drop your coffer key are:
Orcish Champion（オーク）
Orcish Dreadnought
Orcish Dragoon
Orcish Farkiller

actually i got my skeleton key to work, i got my AF4 (gloves) today. hahaha some jp told me they got it first try. damn lucky sob...(Star Onion Brigade!!!)

Coffer Keys are the safest route. 99.9999999% chance of success ^^

lol ho my gawd you'd hate cerberus, such greedy ass bags. well a few i've met. i mean during genkai 2 they all want help with their AF3 or what not, geezus wait till we finish genkai first before asking. lol the jps i met saying they try to rip off NA with meatkabobs and other food. some of them started selling kabobs at 400-500. then again there are nice jps who still sell for 230-250. oh wells, lol no info bout those AF quests? try and check the AF quest, i'm confused, and tired

Think 5 and 6 are just coffer after you accept you gloves AF from the guy in Jeuno (in Upper Armour Shop). After that 5 and 6 are just kill for key and hunt for coffers.

Cerberus I've heard bad things about. I like Midgard ^^

I like Midgard too. Fairly relaxed and calm server, just a tad too heavy on the melee. At least needs more rangers, too many drks right now.

thief af isnt all too useful cept the +steal

personally i only plan to wear one or two pieces of thief af most of the time.
i have a lot better items than most of the af pieces
Hands: Hume RSE Gloves
Head: Emp Hairpin
Feet: Leaping Boots

the pieces will be better for stealing when farming beastmen but for combat there is much better armor... just my thoughts :wink

my LS leader a 70 thf doesnt use but like one piece of his AF at 70 hell most of us didnt even know he had it for the longest time because he didnt wear it.

Ohh and i have 3 pieces of AF as a RDM Boots, Gloves, and Legs.

Garliage Coffer = Pain in the ..... to get to. Other then that its usually always up.

Oztroja Coffer - uhh still need key but from what I hear Im gonna have to fight with 20 millon thives opening the coffer to try and get Astral Rings.

Eldrimne necropolis coffer - Super Fun Coffer to find!!!!!!! Managed to open 4 of them in 3 or 4 hours with friends and then we all ran off to Castle Zvahl for the fight to get our gloves ^^

theif af does come in handy tho...

for instance the lvl 70 cap quest for thief requires u to successfully steal from maat. af can help here cus it has the unique +steal that can only be found on super rare items (ie rabbit charm, thief kote)

also helps in farming cus u can steal beastcoins at a higher successrate

You know to comment about the Greedy American thing, I'd like to point out that it's frieking true. The only people I've been able to help me complete missions or quests are JP players. And that's hard, with my abosulte zero knowledge of the language, I have to rely on the stupid translator which lacks a lot of basic phrases that I could really use. Maybe it's different on other servers. But on Carbunlce you rarely meet and high lvl NA player that is willing to spend about 20 minutes to help you get through a dangerous zone. Sigh, I guess it's all Mcdonalds fault.

Most people who are new to MMORPG's that are NA appear to be greedy. I have little to no problems among my higher lvl NA friends (who came here from other games such as Everquest). We help each out with everything. Now... if one of us was a Paladin or a Ninja or a Warrior T-T. Then we could do AF3's but alas we dont have a Paladin or Ninja or warrior at high enough lvl.

Besides.. helping out people when you can almost always comes back to help you... I may only be level 20, but people already know I'm a good tank, because even if we have to zone, I'm the last one out. So what if I die... if I keep getting good parties where I'm pulling 200+xp a kill, I don't care.

Cael's got the kind of rep that I'd do just about anything to help her out if I could (not that I could... she's 15 levels higher than me even now that she's given up DRG =)
