hello
i been hvin trouble making gil for high lvl equipment 20-70.
the only way i benn doin it is lvl a job to 8 (excpect whm and blm) and then go to orcish outpost near a cave in there and farm dark crysats till lvl 12 i make about 20k every time and eco war helps too kind of but i did lvl thf to 22 and sub it with my war but made about 10k a day but its gos out quick so its a continue thing and never get ne lvling done.
ofcourse i dont sell ne armor cus i might use it again.
buying gil on the internet i think is cheating. and now sent they stop the gilseller thing where the longer u stay in the area the less chance getting the rare drop from a nm u r camping.
making gil is hard

The reason your having a hard time getting gil is cause your using low level jobs. Why the hell are you trying to make money off of farming one dark crystal at a time? That's just stupid. You can make more gil buy logging or minning at the outpost in less time if your really that low.
Hell, if you have that much patients you should pick up fishing! It may be extremely slow but when you get higher in skill you can make tons of gil such as a friend of mine who makes 60k a day (would be way more except he is trading his moat carp so he can get a lu shang fishing pole).
Also, if you want to sell crystals then farm elementals they drop a cluster which is 12 crystals. Dont worry about level 70 equipment yet. If your level 20 worry about level 21-25 equipment.
When you get higher in level you can farm higher mobs that drop more gil and better items. SE wouldn't make it so that a level 8 mob could make you rich cause it if it did then every high level would just massacre them and low levels would be low levels forever.
The mobs dont drop less items if your in an area for a long time if. In order to get crystals you have to be fighting a mob that is not too weak and have signet on you.
The update made you get less items from logging and minning if you are in the same area for too long. This is because people would bot a point and that bot would mine it every time it popped. All you have to do is exit the area and then re-enter.

Thats not true divine I farm crappy ass level mobs for 2 hrs a day and can easily get 60K not even breaking a sweat. I'll just shut my mouth on which mobs. But a level 32 war can easily massacre these guys if you got a 15 thf sub it would be easy gil.
Yes making gil in this game is hard but its the way it is and will always be. and farming from lvl 20-70???? your going to have to make millions of gil you do know that? Just keep at leveling you will soon find an easier way to make gil.

I HATE hunting NMs! Let me tell you the reasons why.
1. Once it pops, you NEVER the NM.
2. There's a very very very small chance of getting the drop. And if you don't get it, it's just a perfect waste of time.
3. (Relates to #1) Everyone is around the pop spot
There's ALOT more, but to exclude time =) Andykiller OUT!!

Nm's are a waste of time... unless you want the drop, i wouldnt bother with them.. even then its not really worth it... the good drop items are over camped as always, because sqe has yet to give alternatives to the leaping boots and emp pin.. they are 'status symbols' at lvl 7 and 24.. so honestly unless you just REALLY cant afford that item ever no matter what.. then camp it...
(emperor = my hoe.. i can get him just about every time.. only problem is i dont like sitting still for 3 hours at a time in a video game... and yes i used to not be able to do this.. it was only jus tbefore i quit camping him i figured out exactly how the 'ubber camperz' do it... and no im not sharing this info)
honestly i sent the poster of this a PM with some ideas.. go ta reply, and sent him some more tips based on what hes doing now... should get him going... its basically all about figuring out where you wanna go with things, i know most of the better ways to make gil in this game after some careful research : im just far to lazy to do them all ^.^;;;

If you are good at claiming, NMs *can* be a good income...but it is very very stressful and I can think of nothing more annoying.
Competition makes you edgy, because you can't just say "oh, placeholders died x mins ago, I have 5 mins to make a sandwich" ... I get uneasy leaving my seat for more than a quick bathroom break even if the NM isn't due for another 15 mins. Then, if you manage claim and kill, and don't get a drop...I don't know about some people but I get *very* frustrated. Basically, when you camp a 2 hour spawn and it doesn't drop, you just wasted 2 hours you could have spent crafting or farming normal items.
Maybe you don't make as much all at once with regular farming, but it's a lot less nerve-wracking.

I only camp the NMs if I want the drop to wear and not to sell. But my point was that the guy said "SE wouldn't make it so that a level 8 mob could make you rich", that's why I talked about NMs since some are low level and their drop sells for a LOT of gil. ^^;

Hoo Mjuu is my mortal enemy, I've killed him 12+ times with no drop, and including the pops I didn't claim, that's way too much time wasted on the item.
I think Crimsonknight, at a low age , should be more concerned with advancing in the game and not bring himself to the brink of insanity with NM pops. It does get easier as you progress, and when I first started out I sold what I found from exploring/leveling and quested a bunch. I got by fine. :3 Luckily you don't need a lot of money to get the average-good armor at a low level, so 5k could get you an entire armor set, and there's so many quests geared towards equipping you, just use the internet to find the quests that give you the items you might want, like Scale Mail. :3

ocelott is very right.. ill be able to get my mnk to lvl (almost 20 i think..) with only about 10-15k gil if i dont go anything +1 (which i doubt ^^" im OCD about +1 when i can get it)... so yeah.. dont stress over it.. like i said, i msged the kid some tips, he gave me what he was doing already, and i gave him a few more tips to improve what hes doing right now... hes got a good base plan already, he'll be fine ^.^

NM = crap, crystal farming = crap. This is all my own personaly opinion however simply because I hate the time involved to profit ratio. Best thing to do is have a combination of things going on that can always you make you gil. Crafting, Farming and Gardening are how I make my gil and I do pretty well I believe. And it keeps me from standing still for 1+ hours waiting for something to spawn that isn't guaranteed to be mine.

BCNMs are my favorite source of cash. They're fun to do, and can easily net you plenty of cash. Plus there's no real "competition" for BCNMs, compared to normal NMs. Just need enough seals. >_^_^

Now that I think about it, it should be 5k per win, plus 10k if Phalanx drops, and +35k if Erase or Utsusemi Ni drops, based on current market prices for those items.
