I'm an Elvaan sam/war at lvl 59. I'm currently out dmging the drk at my lvl, seriously. Itz because i'm equipped with the best possible gear at my lvl. But yea, if we had no equipment on.. the drk will do much more dmg than me. My only competitor rite now is my lvl 60drg/sam who gains tp like mad because of penta, jumps and meditate. The gear I have on gives +19str and thats without food. That's why I'm out dmging the drk.. unless they have the same stuff as me.. i will outdamage them for another few lvls... after 63, I'm sure they will outdmg me. I'm equipped with the Haubergeon , life belt, sniper ring, either the +3 dex/the +3 str ring, the + attack earrings, ochiudo's kote, emp. hairpin, lvl 59 grt katana "DAi..." something, war bow +1, and af gear for the rest.

what about the special food SAM gets with the AF gloves? Salmon rice balls and what not. Do they help?

I use tonosama rice balls, yeah they help.. but it's expensive to buy that shit. 6k a stack on Cerberus.

I heard salmon rice balls have less improvements and are not even stackable. I haven't tried one yet.

Riceball or not, a DRK performs double the damage as me and keeps up with my natural TP gain.

A DRK has a way easier time farming than a SAM too.

It may help to farm with tonosama rice balls cuz they give like 40 def but that still aint comparable to a pally's def.. and the whole point of farming is to make money-- not SPEND it right?

Riceballs? tonosama are the best entry riceballs to get, +45 attack and +35 def and some stats for hp, dex.. and +1 double attack, they sell around 6.5k-7k per stack on Titan but these ones lasts for only 1/2 hr. The Shogun riceballs are the top ones which costs 10k each, itz an advanced version for tonosama because it lasts for an hr. and itz +8 double attack.

As for the other riceballs... the last for an hr each but they don't have and additional stat in double attack, they have something like +1 or +2 in heal hp thing. Naval riceball has incr. effect on aqua type mob tho. In conclusion riceballs are pretty expensive stuff to invest in. I mainly get the tonosama ones but recently the AH is running low on them so I equip the ochiudo's kote and use meat mithrabobs for now which actually gives more dmg because it increase stats in str. which the af gloves don't. If you 're not concerned about dmg then riceballs are great because of def boost and + in double attack. The double attack is great because you can still have that effect when your sub is not war.

i think mnks are the best melee damage dealers in game, not drks, do some research at high levels like 71+, you'll see that during the course of a fight the monk will do as much dmg if not more then the dark and not have to worry about getting hate and screwing up hate management. And monks will still do more dmg then drks at levels before guillitine. If you want to find out who does more dmg, get the FFX1 parser and check it. im not sure where i got it, go to allakhazam final fantasy forums, and look up monk and the thread called monk stats-proof that monk outdamage most.

it does work but can only record about 5 of your most recent battles so it cant record over a long period of time, but you can go back to this and save each of these every 5 battles then start it over and parse from those on your own.
