Elv. Mnks -> Brown Belt vs. LifeBelt?

For

you Elvaan Monks that have reached a high enough level to either equip the Brown Belt and

the Lifebelt, which do you usually prefer using, and which do you think is usually the more

effective one during your leveling trips? I know Elvaans have the lowest accuracy in all of

the races, but I don't know the accuracy rating of the Mnk class itself, so I don't know

if the degraded Acc by picking Elv. class would be as severe as some other classes. From

asking a few high level mnks (63-71) in my server, it's actually a little bit equal on both

sides. /sigh

Just wondering. Thanks.

Get a Life

belt, elvaan needs all the accuracy and attack power at high level.

Trust me, belt

which give +accuracy and + attack is always better then + str or +dex at high level. U r

doing so much damage that u cannot afford to miss one. For instance, if u execute Raging

fists or Asuran fists, u prayed that u would not missed as Mobs has high evasions. So

missing a ws is a very serious issues at high lvl.

If u r a mithra monk, then u will

need the +str, elvaan will be very strong at high lvl, just get +acc belts.

well,

I have the brown belt. The haste is nice @ 8% and the +str is cool too. I have

contemplated getting the life belt, and making up the str loss with 2 +3 rings. When I

think about it tho, I dont miss too much, focus helps, and the only time I miss alot is when

the damn beetles buff their evasion...rdm = Dispel. I think i will stick with my brown

belt, and just check out the other combo sometime soon.

i

know elvaan mnks that have gone both ways some use brown belt and some use life belt it

seems more of a prefrence brown belt = swinging more often and life belt = swinging less but

hitting it more but it depends on how you stack it cause if you say went with the brown belt

then also got the fuma kyahns you could make up for the life belt with 2 sniper rings plus

having all that haste and a mage to cast haste on you = very deadly and lots of tp which in

turn = a lot of raging fist or whatever weapon skill you are using at the moment^^

hmm

no i wasn't aware of that johno i never bothered much with haste i'm a sam so my focus has

always been dex and accuracy but i know the whm haste spell is 12% haste so you are saying

that you have to have haste cast on you for all that haste equipment to work but if you have

all the equipment that's like 30%(rough estimate) haste am i right johno? if that's how it

is damn that's retarded i buy haste equipment cause i want haste without relying on someone

to cast a spell on me >_< oh well thanks for the info johno

Aye, the

brown belt haste is useless unless u got the haste spell on ^^

Just a reminder, brown

belt is over - rated ^^

I've

just recently asked two lv. 65 JP Mnks on my server, both of them said that if you have a

Brd in the PT, Brown Belt is best, and if there isn't, Lifebelt should be used.

I

guess I'll find out on my own when I get to those levels. smile.gif

right i found that out the hard way 2 >.<, Been thinking about it and im pretty sure that

the LifeBelt is the best way to gomight buy the Fuma Kyhan (3% haste Boots) just incase i

I registered to this forum after reading this specific topic, due to several of the posts being false and therefore misleading.

Items that add +%Haste do NOT NEED HASTE to be cast on the person equipped.

+Haste reduces targets delay by X% (X being the number provided by said item)

So Brown belt would reduce delay by 8%.
Say you have 400 delay.
8%= (8/100)
so 8% of 400 delay would be -32 delay, so your delay would end up as 468.

I do not, however, know if the Haste reductions to delay are calculated before or after the delay reductions from Martial Arts.

I finally picked up the life belt and the sun rings to check it out. I really like it. I end up hitting a lot more, and the damage is even better. Not a lot more damage, but still an improvement. We were fighting in Kuftal against robber crabs, I was hitting from 37-58 with crits as high as 85. Raging Fists was doing from 230-410, which isn't bad against crabs. I would switch to the brown belt when my focus ability popped up, and it helped with damage, its nice having STR 62+22. I am just gonna keep both for the time being, I like being able to switch back and forth.
