The development team is currently working on the version update scheduled to take place in the last week of April. The first event for Conflict, called "Ballista" (as detailed in previous development news), is in the final stages of adjustment.
We would like to take this opportunity to inform our users that Ballista will be introduced in this update as a simple event and not as part of the Conquest.
There will be several stand-alone events held before Ballista becomes a permanent fixture, so participation will initially be limited.
We hope to continue to improve Ballista even after it has been permanently implemented, based upon the opinions of participants, the performance of the rules in actual play, and the influence of Ballista on the world of Vana'Diel.
Many other additions and changes, including the introduction of new Dynamis areas, are planned for this update.
The next version update will include the following changes:
[Event-related]
- The first event for Conflict, "Ballista", will be implemented
- New quests and battles designed for alliances will be added.
- New quests will be available in each nation.
- Guild quests that call for the manufacture of certain items will be implemented.
- Characters will be able to participate in a strategy called "Garrison" that will be available at several outposts.
[Battle-related]
- New Dynamis field areas will become accessible.
- Several new types of battlefields ranging from low- to mid-level will be added.
- An issue concerning the accumulation of TP with weapon skills that consist of multiple strikes (i.e. Combo, Penta Thrust, etc...) will be corrected.
- A new job trait called "Subtle Blow" will become available to ninja and monks.
- An ability that allows dragoons to restore their wyvern's HP will be added. Also, if a wyvern at full hit points is sent away using the "Dismiss" command, the "Cal Wyvern" ability will be available for use immediately.
[Item-related]
- The mysterious "Strange Apparatus" will become operational.
- A new type of flowerpot will become available.
- Players will be able to insert their names in the help text of certain items they synthesize.
- New guild-related furniture and equipment will be added.
- The number of items obtained from beastmen treasure caskets will be increased.
- New synthesis and desynthesis will become available.
- New items will be available for purchase at several of the guild shops.
- Various other new items will be added.
[System-related]
- A new emote for giving a triumphant yell will be added.
- A sort function will become available in the Storage menu.
- A character's footsteps will no longer be heard when using Sneak.
- The name of a pet's master will be displayed when a pet is targetted.
- The limit for the /wait macro will be extended to 60 seconds.
- An ON/OFF setting for "Battle Effects" will be added to the Config menu.
- It will be possible to place single items on auction directly from a stack of items.
Several other changes will be announced at the time of the update.

"An issue concerning the accumulation of TP with weapon skills that consist of multiple strikes (i.e. Combo, Penta Thrust, etc...) will be corrected."
If their idea of "fixing" this issue is making it so each hit doesn't return TP, I am going to be pissed. What the hell are they thinking? DRGs have a hard enough time getting a PT the way it is. That would be giving a PT leader just one less reason to invite us. If they take away the TP gain of Penta, not even a DRG/SAM will be able to get a PT. Yes I love the idea of finally being able to heal my wyvern and being able to send it away without having to wait for the two hour. I'm sure every DRG loves this idea, but that won't help us get a PT any easier. If they strip away the TP gain of penta, it will make it even harder for us to get a PT, where it was damn near impossible to get an invite in the first place.

Awesome! New abilitys are always good, and it really gets annoying in a party when you have to stop to heal your wyvern when you party is hunting enemies with lots of AOE. Im just curious how it is going to be, i wonder if it will give dragoons mp or something..... o well guess ill just have to wait and see ^^;

I usually end up having to hold back abit in a PT to not pull aggro off the tank. If this "Subtle Blow" is going to be what I think it is(Randomly causes an attack to generate no hate,) this will cause a sigh of relief for monks, and a cry for help from Ninjas who only get invites for their ability to tank.

Sad to say but if you aren't a SAM you should be hating this patch.
I think tp return on multi-hit WS are as follows
Full tp return for first hit
+1 tp for each following hit.
So fully connecting Penta-thrust now returns 17.5 tp.
I'm making DRK my main and i am discouraged. If i were a DRG i would be very very discouraged.

I seriously think everyone is just freaking out over the TP comment in the update notes. I have read posts on FFXIOnline.com, Warcy, and here and everyone thinks they are going to change it to not recieve TP based on connected hits, well I think that's wrong. There is a problem with it, a serious issue that DOES need to be corrected and not a single person has said anything about it. I think what they mean when they say their going to correct an issue with it, is that they are going to remove the potential DOUBLE ATTACK from each swing of the multiple attack WS. I have seen Penta giving back 110TP after all successful double attacks, often giving 80TP.
What I would like to know Zafron is what makes you so sure/positive you know what your talking about, is Fairy the test server or something? Cause otherwise your just spitting bullshit.

test server = atomos o.O: always will be
HUGE YAY!!!!! over being able to heal Khocha ^.^ i was thinking of this as i did my paper round (i hadnt read this yet) also HUGE YAY!!!! over being able to regain my 2h right away after dismissing Kho at full health, takes care of my choco prob
The TP problem i think is just about not gaining TP after a hit (i see this a lot)

If they nerf the TP you get back from multiple hit WS, this bad news not just for DRG and SAM, but even RNG and MNK. But we dont know what they are "fixing", all we can do is wait and see. But I dont think they nerf everyone like this.

I am withholding judgment on the TP comment until I see it happen. Being able to avoid turning into a tank with some sort of hate-removing blow would be very nice, though. It's not that monks can't tank, but the ability to do so after level 25 results in extreme danger, far moreso than a Paladin or Warrior with Defender up.
One thing I have personally noticed with TP is that it sometimes seems to accumulate in odd ways. After using a WS or when my TP was at zero (from healing or zoning), I find that I'm often missing a point or two that ought to be there. Other times, I seem to accumulate a point or two more than is typical, despite not having changed weapons. Maybe they're correcting some fractional value in the TP gain code?
If they do prevent Raging Fists and Penta Thrust from re-building TP (which is one of the major reasons people love those skills)... the backlash will be horrible. If we thought the Summoner petition was bad, I can only imagine how rapidly SE's mailboxes would be flooded after that sort of nerfing. I don't really think it'll happen, though, as SE doesn't seem to do foolish things like that. After all, they're finally making the Wyvern the viable creature that it ought to be.

not all hits in a multi hit ws will land, thus sometimes u don't get the full tp return. sometimes you get odd amounts because you don't recieve round numbers when you hit, you recieve decimals as well. drk hits get 12 tp, then 13 tp, then 12, then 13 etc because their return is 12.5. i highly doubt square would do something as stupid as pissing off all of their customers (can one person here honestly say they'd like it if only the first hit in multi hit ws counted for tp?). they are a very experienced company and wouldn't do anything that foolhardy, they're probably just gonna fix a minor glitch or something :/

actually it would be cool if they did this nerf. that way all the frickin retards who are obsessed with using WS over and over instead of thinking about their group will change jobs to something we actually need more of like say bards. sick of ppl especially samurais who are like OMG OMG I AM UBER, LOOK I JUST DID A WEAPON SKILL AND GOT BACK TP...not that all samurais are stupid or think this way but a lot of them do...

I don't appreciate this comment. I am just trying to share information about what mods are posting on FFXIonline. I'm not trying to mislead anyone.
I don't think Penta-thrust, Raging-Fists, and guillotine are the issue however.
I think what SE is trying to stop is high level MNKs from equipping 999 delay H2H relic weapons then executing Asura Fists for 128% tp return, and then spamming it all day long.
As far as I can gather they haven't done anything yet, but from what the mods are posting on FFXIonline it looks like SE is discussing one of 2 formulas. The first one that i mentioned earlier and one where the TP return on MHWSs is curved.
Either will be a nerf. Again I don't think anything official has been released, but since it makes sense, i'd say it is good to be prepared.
here is where i got this information:
http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/showthrea...&threadid=38426
Look for the Super moderators post. I've heard it from other import players as well but this source seems most credible so far.
Mayble we will get lucky and it will only apply to the relic weapons that enable MNKs the infinite use of WSs, but for some reason the pessimist in me isn't counting on it.

Speaking from a DRG's poing of view, you have this all wrong. We are mad about it because the only reason why someone will invite a DRG into a PT is because we can spam Penta. Not because we want to (atleast I don't want to spam it all day long). So what happens if they make it so we can't spam it? What happens if they take away the only reason why someone will invite us? Think about that.

Since SAMs don't have any multi-hit WS that hit more than 2 times this really won't affect them one bit.

I have HEARD that the issue that is going to be fixed is applied to a situation similar to this:
At lvl 74, Asuran Fists, if all hits connect, gives something like 46TP.
At lvl 75, for no reason, it returns 44TP.
HOPEFULLY that's what will be fixed, because if they super-nerf Penta...Poor Dragoons =(

Actually, it will affect SAMs in these following ways:
- Penta thrust for a SAM sucks in an exp party, because you rarely can land all 5 hits with a SAM. However, When you farm, the TP regain is what puts SAM up with the other melees when it comes to farming. SAM is not very good at soloing as it is =( Before I had Penta-thrust, I would farm a few monsters, then have to sit and rest for most of my HP to recover. When i got Penta, I have a chance to compete with other farming melees!
- You ever self-chained with Meditate before using a GK? Havemn't you noticed it's impossible to do it unless you use Enpi or Jinpu? That's because they perform 2 hits, which is two hit-count towards your TP regain while you're getting meditate TP too. You gotta be able to do your next WS within 3 seconds of the first one. If they nerf it to where only 1 hit counts as TP-- guess what... Samurai's supposed 'ability to perform self-skillchains' as advertised is gonna go out the window.. You think we should have to rely on our 2hr only for this?!?
Sure, with POLEARM it's easy to self-skillchain perhaps, but remember-- if this nerf goes into effect.. it wont matter what weapon u use, you just wont get TP back in time.
