I'm amazed your LS tried to tell you Taru's are useless endgame unless they are mages.

I played my RNG to 75, DRG to 53 and NIN is at 49 right now, and never had an issue with being one shotted or doing bad damage.

While other races have to be boosting DEX and AGI, you can boost STR and keep your ACC up high. Its just a tradeoff. I use my RSE2 even at 75 for the great HP boost, and I've never been 1 shotted by Kirin.

There's a Taru War on my server named Gumbox who is extremely talented and does a better job than most other melee's I've partied with.
