True story too... There is SOOO much possibility for fun in this game it makes me want to vomit in excitement! Crazy and stupid macros are the way to go in this game. Role playing as a drunken taru stripper with a lisp is hard but the rewards are entirely endless... It's about have'ing fun, makes me sad when people take the game too seriously...

Back on topic though....

Taru Bst's are a good combo you've got the mp to keep you going for quite some time while you scrifice your pet and finish off the other mob...

I would think that you would have to use a broth to summon a pet to beat Maat. Maybe one of the NM pets?

...you can summon a NM?!

Probably the best race for BST is Elvaan, great CHR and just a pretty stout character.
I go between soloing and parties because each get equally boring as you go along.
But as far as the BST stealing all the enemies thats not really the case because I only charm DC-EM and fight Toughs with them, because you can't hold a tough for more than 10-15secs at most.
Pet food has a 3 min cool down.
And when you get "Release" in the 30s you are all the reason to join a party because you are just like a DRG by adding an extra character and then you just send off your BST before the end of the battle so you get the full XP.

Yeah, there are special high quality broths that call a named familiar... There's a crab with bongo drums on it's back and a rarab and a mandragora that are Named pets that I know of... I think the Mandragora is from a drop in Yutunga called humus or something...

I dont know much about BST. but the crab with the barrels on the back of his is sooo cute. ^^ back when I was doing my AF2 my friend pulled it out when he was helping me out (just the 2 of us) and that crab was just killing that NM with ease. The crab just looked like a normal clipper but has like 3 wine barrels stacked on it ~.~;

Never knew that was a NM pet. Are those really hard to get?

They are HQ

synths of normal recipes.

If your craft skill is far in excess of the necessary lvl

to make the recipe you have a chance of making the +1 version.

For example, the lvl

23 broth is the Harefamiliar and requires 4 sandorian carrots and a water crystal. I think

it's lvl 3 cooking or so. If you get an HQ synth, you'll make a famous carrot broth which

is the lvl 43 Keeneared Steffi. smile.gif

Why play a MMORPG when you are going to solo? Just a question there.

However I find having the BST class very annoying when you are trying to level because a bst

will take 3 times the amount of enemies a level party takes. When it comes down to it any

race can do this job, the best bst I've seen has been a Galka, good damage great hp while

we runs around. Just uses all the chr items he can find. One week I saw him leveling a

level 24 bst in mhuara. The next weekend he was upper 40's in Altepa. Don't know how he

did it. Just did.

I've pt'ed with some bst's and they were cool, and

yet I envy them because sometimes I just want to level and don't feel like having to look

for a group to do it. It's very hard to solo after level 20, unless you're a beastmaster.

Some of us (not to say me, persay) are not overly social, and yet like the gameplay of FF11,

so if they want to be solo bst's, power to them, and if they want to party, they can come

join my pt's ^^ I like em.

As a

career Taru mage, BST is a dream come true smile.gif . I always hated relying entirely on PTs for

experience, and farming as a Taru mage is generally difficult unless you're very high lvl.

Now I can go off and lvl up BST all by myself whenever I get frustrated with the PT scene,

or whenever I can't find one.
Side note, as a lvl 14 Taru BST/WHM with an Astral Ring,

Hope Ring, and a Bird Whistle, I'm VERY effective as a BST 8) . I can tame toughs reliably

and take on VTs, enfeeble a little, and easily come out on top.

CourierCarrie! That's the

name of that crab carrying buckets around. XD Whatever broth summons that crab must be very

good and very high level... I watched a LV68 BST use it against an NM Crawler named Habetrot

in the Temple of Ughlagpialgapla (yes, that spelling is correct. tongue.gif). Carrie whooped its ass

into the ground. XD CourierCarrie is the best pet EVER~ ^^

The

lvl 23 HQ Fish oil broth Summons Carrie, from what i have seen and bin told It is the only

pet that Grows with the lvl of your Bst ^^.

Back on topic Elvaan make the most

versitile, and therefore imo, the best Bst race in Game. Now b4 ppl start to jump at me plz

read what i have to say carefuly.

1) Elvaan Bst/war make great tanks, surpassed only

by Pld and depending on SJ even with War. When you also take into account a pet that wacks

away at the mobs your fighting in a decent PT exp will Fly.

2) Elvaan have very high

CHR and MND. at 60 with 30 RDM sub i can cure 3 for 181 with out a problem, yes you heard

right RDM... i found WHM to be boring I'm not saying its a bad job but its just not a Job

for me. Back to CHR it can be a huge problem when u go to charm a Lizard thats a DC con then

all its buddies link to you, as Elv this rarely happens when compared to Hume Mithra and

Galkas. (even whith them using Monster Signa and CHR+ rings, i dont use any CHR+ items as i

find very little need for them.

3) Many argue that Taru make the best BST. This is

not true MP is not an issue if you play the job right. You as a Bst/whm or rdm let you pet

tank thus you take very little if any damage, if you take a lot of damge your doing somthing

wrong, Thus you cure (Regen is suggested) very little with the use of sneak and invis when

needed. Then it is just a matter of Resting and letting your pet Fight while you rest (works

extremly well When you DUO (will explain Duoing in a later post) So with a few Hp to MP

rings like Electrum Rings or Astral (costly) your realy set in the MP department as a Elvaan

bst/whm or rdm. Also with a Few stacks of Pinneapples and Water Crystals and a decent

cooking skill Pinneapple juice keep mp up. ^^

Well i have to go for now Classes >.<

Later ppl. ^^

That's just having no friends and spending all your time online. Trust me. My LS leader leveled his war (sub for Pal) from 19-30 in one day. None of us though he would be able to but god damn it he did. I still want to kick him in the teeth for that. I get like 2-3 levels a day. Probably because I get bored of it...

I levelled DRG from 1-25 in like 8 hours. tongue.gif

Well Sesshoumaru if Elvaan are best race and you dont need to use whm sub "if you use it right" then why arent there more people with different sub jobs like bst/brd and bst/nin so on...
and then you say that when charming a DC lizard with galka hume and mithra it happens more often this is befinetly not true Hume have high chr and using the items can def help for galk and mithra lessing the chance of the chain

Elvaan, Taru, and Hume all have equal CHR and have the highest in all races
