Note: Those of you that frequent the BST board on Allakhazam, you might have seen this already. I hope you don't look upon this as spam. I just need all the input I can get.
I know it's been asked before, but I had a few questions about getting to Beastmaster. Right now, I have a level 18 MNK, level 13 WAR, and a level 4 RDM. Recently, I have been levelling Warrior, but two things have happened.
1. I've been talking to some of the other BSTs on Garuda, and they've been telling me to quit levelling WAR and switch back to my RDM, if I'm not going to level WHM (which I detest). The problem is, of course, all the money and time invested in WAR. While the money can be regained, the time cannot. Should I follow their suggestion and go back to my RDM and take that to 30, stopping only to raise my WHM to 15? Or, in relation to...
2. I've found myself becoming less and less fond of WAR as the levels go on. Maybe it's because of the monotony of it, but it's my highest level class that's a viable sub for BST. Should I just keep going and take it to 30, and sub WHM, perhaps?
While many will say go through with the RDM to 15, then WHM/RDM to 30, I have to honestly say that I hate WHM more than any other class in the game. That's the main reason why I didn't choose it to begin with. Another reason is because I'm Elvaan. Because of my race, I have a small MP pool to begin with, so I find myself wondering if that small MP pool would even be worth it.
Or, at the most extreme, should I create a new character, like a Hume, that would be better with MP? I would prefer stickin' it to the mob at the front with my pet, but I know that kind of thing could easily get me killed and is not the way BST works...
You guys's thoughts?

well, since you'll be soloing with BST what you want is to cut down your downtime between fights to a minimum, or to even non existent such, so whm would probably be the best since mp gives much more hp if you understand what I'm saying
8 mp gives 30 hp so what you wanna accomplish is to be able to rest while your pet beats the monster you fight and that you'll be ready for fight when your pet dies or whatever happens... I guess rdm could do that but you'd get an even lesser manapool to use, astral rings will help ofcourse...

Im a Bst/war and I love it - yeah you solo stuff, but you need a pt eventually. Ive got a static BST pt and we have 0 down time. We get about 50xp per kill (mainly beacause we not all the same level yet) but keep in mind that is constant. So really its what kind of bst to you want to be? Since you said you detisted whm Im guessing you hate healing - so i'd stick it out with your war, most WAR defensive equipment is compatible with bst.

you'll have a rocky road until the time comes that you can feed your pet to heal it, at that point just some common sense and smart playing will make warrior an acceptable sub (let pet build some hate before you go buckwild)
i don't recommend RDM for sub, especially if your elvaan, rdm sub gives even less MPs than whm sub and you'll get your spells later, whm sub already gives pitiful MPs but cheer up there is a silver lining, elvaan RSE gives TONS of mps, make sure to grab a few of the choice pieces

So should I drop my WAR right now and head back to San D'oria to get my WHM up to par?

BST/WAR is cool for partying if you get invited, but for soloing you have to remember that you're a 1-person party. You have to cover all the sides. Your pet tanks (or you do at the end of the fight), you heal, you pull, etc. This is why whm is really good for bst.
If in doubt do this in game:
/sea all bst 60-75

Bst/War is something that I do not suggest. Your best bet is WHM. Bst/Rdm *will* work but not having Cure2 until level 26 is going to make things difficult in Jugner and Qufim, so your 22-26 might be much slower than normal. Why would you need a Warrior sub when your only going to get hit a few times, you never have to tank, and your not supposed to hit the monster ?? Its like not having a sub at all.
Anyway, Between Rdm and war, RDM, definately.

Yes for soloing: whm or possibly rdm at later lvls.
For partying: war, whm, rdm, thf
